Tameka Raymond should be breathing quite a bit easier these days since all of the Michael Jackson drama has taken a bit of the spotlight off of her and Usher’s pending divorce…but I’m still following when I can. Recently, Tameka filed an answer to Usher’s divorce petition. In her response, Meka claimed that she was totally caught off guard by his filing of the divorce and was under the impression that things between them was just peachy. In court documents filed Monday in Fulton County Superior Court Meka claims that she “had every reason to believe her marriage was intact” and that two were “intimately together as husband and wife as recently as June 6.”
In Usher’s petition, he requests joint custody of the pair’s two young sons, Usher Raymond V, 1, 1/2 and Naviyd Ely Raymond, 6 months. But regardless of custody requests, word on the street is that Usher’s questioning the paternity of his youngest son and seeks answers. (more…)

Tiny & Toya held a private viewing party last night for the world premiere of their new BET reality show “Tiny & Toya” and were joined by all of their friends and family.

Tiny’s former bandmate and newly inducted Atlanta “housewife” Kandi Burress came through for support.
The show has gotten mixed reactions so far but one thing’s for sure, everybody’s gonna be glued to their sets. In case you missed it, you can catch the entire first episode below: (more…)

Atlanta’s own Keri Hilson performed on her first major awards show wearing her ode to Michael Jackson….glittery socks and all. The diva performed “Turnin Me On” and “Knock You Down” and for her tribute to the King of Pop, Keri performed a brief dance number while Kanye’s verse “Bad Real Bad…Michael Jackson” repeated in the background.

I was waiting on Keri to belt out a classic MJ tune but was disappointed (yet again) all I could do was yell at the screen:
“Dance…Spin…Grab Yo Crotch… SOMETHING!! Dayum!”

Remember that game where you fell backwards hoping someone would catch you?
Keri obviously has no problems with trust…

SouljaBoy Tellem & Keri Hilson always show much ATL love for each other and get my vote for hottest couple at last nights 2009 BET Awards show (Sorry Bey/Jey). You can’t deny how adorable they look together. Everytime these two share a photo there’s so much chemistry the camera seems to melt…remember when he let her rock his chain at Timbaland’s Grammy Party? Well, I said it then that SB was tryna push up. I know what you’re thinking but Aaliyah said it best: age ain’t nothin but a number. Look at that gleam in SB’s eye…he’s got plans for Keri!
Stay tuned.

Have you received this email recently about the missing 3 year old named Jewel Strong?
Missing 3 year Old Girl
You never know, who knows whom
Another child missing.
Please forward to everyone you know.
Her family needs your help finding her.
The email has been circulating for about 3 years now, beginning in 2006. It’s not a complete hoax, little Jewel Strong (pictured above) was actually missing but not as the result of an abduction or runaway. The Jonesboro tot, who was 3 years old in 2006, was vacationing along with her family in Panama City Beach. The child and her 18 year old aunt were playing in a float in the water and were caught in strong currents. Rescuers were able to rescue the aunt, but the 3 year old was swept under the water and could not be found.
Over the course of several weeks, rescuers conducted an intensive search of the child by boat, divers and helicopter. Sadly they turned up nothing. Little Jewel’s distraught parents held out hope that she was alive and well somewhere but all signs point to the small child drowning and being swept away by the strong currents.
It’s a sad sad story that has developed over the course of these three years. The parents refused to give up hope and went through hell and high water to find their child. I did a lil internet research and compiled what’s been going on with the case all these years. If you got that email again today and are interested in Jewel’s story check it out below:
