Just last year Atlanta ranked amongst the top 10 ‘gayest’ cities list (click HERE if you missed that) and now an online study has been done that finally explains why our great city is being inundated with so many thirsty women… and so many pompous men.

Viral Video Of The Day – Whatchoo Know Bout Dem Atlanta Falcons??

The Atlanta Falcons won a huge victory of the Seattle Seahawks Sunday night (January 13, 2013).

In a win that can only be described as “heart stopping,” the Falcons pulled off a comeback that will long be remembered in Atlanta.

I talk much sh*t on twitter during most home games and was almost ready to throw in the towel when Seattle came back from a 20 to nothing deficit in the 4th quarter. It was the last 33 seconds of the game that gave many a Falcons fan a chest ache.

That was when QB Ryan completed two long passes, and Bryant kicked a 49-yard field goal with 8 seconds remaining.

Being in that stadium during those final seconds of the game shall forever go down as one of the best sports moments of my life, especially since I can continue to talk online as if I actually play for the team.

Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed Speaks on Reversing Stance on Gay Marriage… [VIDEO]

Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed did his first national interview discussing his decision to change his stance on Gay Marriage today on MSNBC.

Reed made an announcement earlier this week, stating he went through considerable personal reflection on the issue and changed his mind after discussions with Atlanta’s lesbian and gay communities, as well as his own father and chief of staff.

“This seems to me to be a natural place to be,” Reed said.

“Candidly, I didn’t feel any pressure. … If I wanted to play politics, I would have done it when I was in third place in the mayoral election [in 2009] and in front of the gay and lesbian community saying I was not supportive of marriage equality. … As a result of that, I suffered great political harm.”

As I revealed a few weeks ago, Porsha Williams-Stewart is the newest addition to The Real Housewives of Atlanta and will be making her mark on the 5th Season of the show.

Due to her family’s extensive history in Atlanta, I thought it would be great to offer those of you who DON’T know a lil Atlanta history lesson on Porsha’s grandfather, the late great Hosea Williams.

Williams passed away in 2000, but in 1998, he gave a tour of Atlanta to Dough Richards of WAGA-TV Fox5.

In case you were wondering why I hadn’t blogged much today, I closed my macbook and dropped in on Karyn Greer at Atlanta’s WXIA-TV (Ch 11) this morning (March 15, 2012).

Karyn and I chatted briefly about a few hot topics that have recently been featured on StraightFromTheA.com, like Toya Wright‘s rumored negotiations with The Real Housewives of Atlanta as well as Whitney Houston’s daughter, Bobbi Kristina‘s newfound relationship with her ummmm “brother” Nick Gordon.

Sh*t Some Atlantans Say… [VIDEO]

Yet another “Shit XYZ Says” video has surfaced and this one is near and dear to my heart.

Two chicks have come up with a hilarious video reppin’ the “A” town and they just about got it all in that 3 minute vid! The Krispy Kreme HOT sign, Bishop Eddie Long‘s Bathroom Pix, The Real Housewives of Atlanta and even television anchor Monica Kaufman’s many hairstyles.

Way back before Ludacris was an entrepreNegro he was an Atlanta radio intern named Chris Luva Luva who hosted his own show with his partnah Poon Daddy and way before there was The Mansion & The Velvet Room there was Club 559 and the Silver Fox.

Y’all don’t know nuthin’ bout the “A” if you haven’t been here longer than 10 years. It’s a whole ‘notha city now. *sigh*
