Lawrence Washington aka ‘Miss Lawrence’ is best known for his appearances on The Real Housewives of Atlanta and his short stint hosting Bravo’s ‘Fashion Queens’ but he’s getting quite a buzz after his appearance on the season 2 premiere of ‘Empire.’
Miss Lawrence posted the photo collage above via social media to explain how his ‘Fashion Queens’ co-star Bevy Smith helped him snag the gig, stating:
I wanted you guys to a quick visual as to how I got the opportunity. @bevysmith connected dots with myself and @theoriginalbigdaddy the rest his HISTORY! THANKS TO BOTH OF THEM FOR UNDERSTANDING AND “GETTING ME”!!! I hope you guys enjoy this amazing episode!
Miss Lawrence met Lee Daniels through Bevy Smith and he subsequently got the creator’s attention after Smith filmed him pitching a special ball themed episode of Empire, complete with impersonations of Jamal and Cookie Lyon!

After Lee watched the video, he responded, “Done!” and a few weeks later, Lawrence got a one on one audition.
He reportedly picked Sylvester’s “You Make Me Feel (Mighty Real)” for his audition, and he clearly slayed it, as it’s the same song Washington sang during the episode…
Having trained in performing arts, Miss Lawrence says he wants to revisit his original dream of being a singer while also maintaining his brand in the beauty industry.
You may remember, he partnered with Kandi Burruss for a brief period to market himself with ‘Closet Freak’ back in 2010.
Things reportedly fell apart between Kandi & Lawrence when the two couldn’t agree on a contract.
Whatever the case, Lawrence is back on track with his music career and what better launching pad is there than Empire??
