The Real Housewives of Atlanta aired the 6th episode of its 7th season last night (December 14, 2014).
This week’s episode is titled ‘Make-ups and Breakdowns’ and it’s filled with segments of relationships that need mending as well as a few that have irretrievably broken apart.
Cynthia and NeNe continue to hash out their issues and struggle to make amends. Phaedra keeps her mind off of Apollo’s drama by delving into work, including a new case involving Derek J.
Meanwhile, it’s New York Fashion Week and Cynthia makes her comeback on the runway. Kandi also journeys to the Big Apple to visit Todd’s mother, Sharon, and is forced to defend herself and her mother once confronted by Sharon’s allegations about Mama Joyce.
Recap + watch full RHOA ep. #6 below…
After last week’s blow up and Nene’s ‘walk out’ the ladies decide to give the two former BFF’s some privacy.
When left alone, the ladies talk out their issues and decide that they should move on from the beef.
At the end of their discussion, Nene and Cynthia hug it out and it looks like they just may have a chance of reconciling their friendship… maybe. That is… until Peter speaks up about it.
But we’ll get to that in a minute…
Phaedra Parks takes a break from all the Apollo Nida drama to put her legal skills to work for Derek J.
No matter what kinda craziness going on in my life, I’m never going to let any of my JOB(s) suffer because of that Apollo mess… so run and tell THAT!
It was just last summer that the celebrity hairstylist/Fashion faced a bizarre lawsuit stemming from a client who accused him of ‘stealing’ her used weave and replacing it with more used weave.
Derek meets with Phaedra at her law office for legal advice and from all the evidence it seems that the woman who filed the suit is attempting to use Derek’s celebrity status to come up.
The two subsequently visit the scene of the crime, The J-Spot Salon, to attempt to re-enact the scenario and it’s clearly all for sh*ts and giggles.
It’s refreshing to see Phaedra doing something other than stressing about her ‘real life’ legal issue & family problems and clearly Derek J & his ‘weave bandit’ lawsuit is there for comic relief.
Nene and Cynthia have worked things out between them and as the two share their stories with their husbands things seem to take a turn for the worse.
On one side of town, Nene is speaking with Gregg, who tells her that the both clearly miss each other. Gregg seems supportive of their friendship but is clearly there to listen and not provide input. That’s Nene’s friend. He gets it. But he has also chosen to stay out of it and let them work things out amongst themselves.
Peter is livid about Cynthia forgiving Nene so easily. But ‘forgive’ for what? It seems that Peter is the one who wants to keep the two apart. He blames Nene for the bulk of all of his marital problems… even down to how much sex he and his wife was (or wasn’t) having!
Nene recounts how it’s always PETER who says mean and nasty things about her on social media, and it’s clear that it’s PETER who wants to keep the rift between the two ladies going, stating to Cynthia, “If you don’t address this right, you’re gonna look like a punk!”
Welp… I guess now we see who the real gate keeper is in that relationship!
Todd and Kandi pay a visit to New York and the cute couple pay a long overdue visit to Todd’s mom, Miss Sharon.
Miss Sharon is still feeling somekindaway about how Kandi’s mom (Mama Joyce) treated her during her last visit to Atlanta and she uses her camera time to get it all out!
The scene was a bit hard to watching being Todd’s mother passed away a few weeks ago.
Mama Joyce referred to Todd’s mom as a whore and his dad a pimp and Miss Sharon is still upset about the statements, what’s even worse about the situation is that Kandi was caught lying about it to Todd on camera and Miss Sharon calls her out about it.
Kandi seems to want things to just ‘go away’ and during a dinner with her new mother in-law, she seems frustrated when called out about the lie.
While I think it’s a difficult situation, Kandi should have been a bit more apologetic to her new mom in-law and it’s sad that Kandi is still exhibiting signs that she’s not ready or willing to address Mama Joyce’s bad behavior.
Whatever the case, the ‘beef’ wasn’t between Kandi & Miss Sharon …it was Mama Joyce who started all of the tension. All I can say about the whole situation is… at least Miss Sharon got a chance to speak her mind.
