Nene Leakes of The Real Housewives of Atlanta brought in the New Year with a romantic beach date with her fake ex-husband Gregg.
The cute couple may have fooled the rest of the world with their shenanigans, but The Leakes’ savvy business move did not go unnoticed by anyone around Atlanta.

Their “divorce” and subsequent “reconciliation” [insert side-eye] has been a constant storyline on the popular reality show.
Nene recently covered Sister2Sister magazine, where she spilled details about her “divorce,” which clearly was all for show.

When we broke up, Gregg moved out for a year.
We divorced while Gregg was out. Then, once we divorced, we found ourselves being friends. And there was nothing left to fight about.

Blah blah blah… the truth of the matter is that once Nene found out about Greg’s side chick, she said the gig was up! Things were getting a bit too “real” and she didn’t want to play the “divorce” game anymore.
“I’m very loyal and I was very committed to Gregg,” she said. “I always wanted to stay married.”
Now comes the online tomfoolery….
Nene recently revealed that she and Gregg brought in the New Year with rose petals and champagne and tweeted about it every step of the way…
Strawberries… chocolate & champagne! (love is in the air!)

…and the finale was Hershey’s kisses in the form of a heart on the bed.
Now everybody knows that “real” relationships don’t have to be broadcast all over twitter and facebook.
In fact, it’s been my assessment that when people go above & beyond with the online antics they’re actually a bit insecure about the relationship… but I could be wrong.
In this situation however, I’m going to give Nene & Gregg the benefit of the doubt and assume that instead of living in the moment, Nene took out her cell phone, took the photos and tweeted them out prior to her New Year’s midnight rendezvous with Gregg, to drum up interest in their “wedding” storyline, which I’m almost positive is coming soon.
As you know, Nene was offered her own show a while back which was to feature the “housewife” on her quest to start a new “single” life in L.A…. they even shot a few test spots for the show.

Nene was offered her own show way before Kim got her “wedding special” but since the public wasn’t truly buying her “divorce” that plan was squashed.

I’m gonna go ahead and make my 2013 prediction that a Nene & Greg RHOA ‘wedding special’ is coming in the next few months…

At the time Nene and Greg divorced, I believe Greg was having financial troubles and Nene was just beginning to make some cash. So inorder to protect her money she had to divorce him so her wages could not be taken.

Why is everyone actin like Greg & NeNe’s divorce was anything other than just a way for NeNe to hold on to her new coins! Greg went on that radio show & said he put $400k into "makin NeNe pop off in the A," and now that she’s "famous," he want his money back! NeNe heard that interview & couldn’t run fast enough to the divorce attorneys! I think they’re both at a point in life where familiarity is a comfort & neither of them want to START OVER with sum1 new! I ain’t mad at them!

I have never been a NeNe fan but can’t knock her cause …she hustles. I love her and Greg’s love, too. From what I understand, he held her down when she was broke. Now that the script has flipped, she’s holding him down and taking the family to higher levels. She had every opportunity to walk- most "Hollywooder’s" do. For that she will be blessed. Nene has a mean hustle going. She is very hot right now and she going to make as much money as she can. When your’e hot your’e hot. Because once things cool down it might be a long while before it becomes hot again. I believe her divorce from Greg was a business deal.They seem very much in love. I can’t throw any shade Nene’s way, she used her RHOA fame wisely (unlike a few others). Greg truly mistepped when he did what he did to Nene. Spouses should always support you on your come up (not shade you on the damn radio).
Greg & Nene have a minor son, they also look and seem happy together. I’m all for any family staying together when it makes sense. Kudos to them.

Sal, first lets spell defamation correctly before you speak on what could happen to Michelle. It is obvious you don’t have too much knowledge about defamation of character when you don’t even know how to spell it. Michelle talking about celebrities is open to the public, they an open forum. Michelle has an opinion and she is entitled to speak out. That is not defamation of character. Defamation is when you are saying a person is on drugs when they are not etc. Saying something that is harmful to their image and it a flat out lie. For example, when Usher had his team contact Michelle or when funkediva said Kenya Moore had took legal action out on him, that shows a person could practice freedom of speech,but that often comes with a consequence. Not sure if divorce was real or fake..but having a wedding special leading up to some large overdone ceremony on their 2nd go round at bravo expense is not a story line I am interested in following. I hope she goes back to the lab and comes up with different idea for spinoff. She sees that it did not work out for Kim..Kim admits it was a one time deal although she will not admit to being fired. They only decided to go forward to fulfill her contract as atl said in previous post she was not given additional salary and that was because tardy for the wedding was not the big hit they try to make it out to be. This would be the 3rd idea I have heard of for Nene spinoff..first it was suppose to be something about her trying to make it in hollywood and then her living the single life…now getting remarried? She should keep trying.
