VH1′s Love and Hip-Hop Atlanta is set to air in a few days and the cast celebrated with a premiere party for the new season of the show last week (June 13, 2012).

I’m trying my best to hold my tongue about this show because CLEARLY it is purely for entertainment, but I just wish there were some better representations of Atlanta on the show.
That being said, I’ll let y’all draw your own conclusions. But after watching a sneak peek of the premiere episode, I see umma have to hold my tongue and just let the cast get that VH1 dough.

A few things of note about this first episode…
Mama Dee (Lil Scrappy’s Mom) will be the Mama Jones of the Atlanta cast. She’s already got a few catch phrases that I’m sure we’ll be hearing all season…. even though I can’t recall right now what they were.
I can honestly see Mama Dee as the only true beneficiary of this show but we’ll have to just wait and see.
Lil Scrappy and his baby mama Erica Dixon’s story is a bit cliche. She’s the baby mama who says she’s more than a baby mama (but what is her occupation?).
Scrappy apparently left her at some point to be publicly with Diamond (formerly of Crime Mob). As you know, Diamond was one of the original cast members pegged for LHH ATL but she quit when Scrappy and his mom came aboard.

Even with that… they spoke Diamond’s name at least 10 times throughout the premiere episode! I hope she got a check or at least a few t-shirts for the mentions.
Rasheeda and Kirk were pretty much null and void during this initial episode, so we’ll have to wait and see about their drama. Hopefully they kept it all under wraps.
And Stevie J and Mimi Faust either don’t give a flying f*ck about what their child will think about their “drama” playing out on television OR they’re practicing their acting. Either way… it’s all bad!
Especially considering… the chick he’s supposedly creeping with is a dude!
I swear Joseline is a dude and no one will EVER convince me otherwise!
Someone already spilled the tea to Sandra Rose saying there’s proof out there that Joseline is a MAN and don’t even get me started about what the “queens on the street” are saying…
As I said on twitter when I was watching the episiode, I predict Mona Scott-Young will pull a “Crying Game” ending on y’all this year… and if Stevie J. acts like he didn’t know he was boning a tranny we will ALL be giving him the side-eye (as if we aren’t already).

Entertain me for a minute here, that last individual on the right in the group picture. What exactly is it? I’ve seen some androgynous specimens in my time, but THAT….no ma’am/sir!
I understand everyone’s frustration that they didn’t involve the ATL’s "elite" but if you think about the original love and hip hop they did the same for NY. Who was checking for ANYONE on that show. Come on now Jim Jones Yandy Somaya Chrissy etc. Of all the people they could have used for LHH NY the cast was less than stellar BUT they GREW on everyone. Not saying that this show will grow on anyone but they used the same exact formula for NY and it worked.

This was so bad. It’s really sad to see adults behave in this manner. It’s an embarrassment for Atlanta. It appears to be scripted. I’m tired of seeing black women mistreated and abused. I wont be watching this garbage.

@youalreadyknow…while the original did not have anyone considered "elite" atleast we knew who they were! I have not the foggiest idea who any of these people are with the exception of scrappy. I’m an Atlanta transplant and it seems like all the people are only known locally which is strange with all the famous folk Atlanta has to choose from. I’ve heard of Rasheeda but couldn’t pick her out of a line up. With that said, I’ll watch the show but womp womp for not getting one single cast member that’s ever been a factor.

I watched the first episode and this show is definitely going to be interesting. I like K’Michelle. She looks like Keyshia Cole. She reminds me of her when she first came out. I don’t understand why Mimi stays with Stevie J. He is obviously cheating on her. Joseline is definitely a dude. SMH

This is an interesting specimen of a show. I think some of it is scripted for the sake of content and some of it is real. I understand what K. Michelle is going through because I’ve heard enough about how crazy she is, but when you need help after being abused like that and no one helps you in the industry, then of course people are going to shun you.
Stevie J. is messing with Joseline, he did the same thing with Eve (in which he broke up with in 2000). Which brings me to another interest point, if he was married to Mimi for 15 years………..oh well.
And Atlien, I believe you about Joseline, I think she either is a tranny (her breasts are implants + but injections) and she might have found the money to get a sex change, becuase I don’t know of any strip club where they let chicks with ‘a lil extra’ perform, unless she works at the more seedier establishments. It doesn’t sound too far fetched at the very least (Given Atlanta’s ‘other’ reputation).
Scrappy is cooler than I thought he was, even though Mama Dee is ‘unstable’.
But we will have to see.
