Kanye also mentions Wiz Khalifa, who’s currently engaged to his ex-girlfriend Amber Rose, stating:

Kanye nor Jay-Z have the power to fire Kris Humphreys. Jay-Z is not a part of the NJ Nets’ day to day decision making; or else Jay-Z might have gotten rid of Kris, since Kanye is "in love" with Kim (Kanye will love anything with a pulse).
Jay-Z is just a figurehead being used by the majority owners of the Nets, due to Jay-Z’s popularity in today’s culture; and, mostly, due to Jay-Z’s close relationship with Labron James. The Nets ultimately want Labron James to play for the Brooklyn Nets at some point.
And they feel Jay-Z can make this happen. Miami is just a pit stop for Labron…until the Brooklyn Nets organization is up and running. Trust me. But I live two blocks from the new arena being built and I still won’t go to a game.

Billionaires own the Nets. Jay-Z is a minority owner (the same as Nelly with the Bobcats NBA franchise/Serena & Venus with the Miami Dolphins, etc. ). Jay-Z is NOT the one moving the Nets to Brooklyn. The Nets are being moved to Brooklyn due to finances and other reasons. Mainly, the stadium the Nets currently play ball in is NOT theirs (the one in Brklyn would be theirs). They play under contract at the current stadium; and the contract is about to expire (if it hasn’t already and they signed another short one until the Brklyn stadium is completed).
Jay-Z does NOT have enough money to outright own a sports franchise; nor does he have enough money to be a majority owner (majority owners, 51% or more, make the final decisions). Some of you get confused when you hear about the "worth" of Jay-Z. 400 plus million dollars is NOT all cash…half of that MIGHT be. Most of that money is on paper (stock options/plus others assets/real estate, etc.).
I know what I am talking about, trust me. Plus, Puffy alluded to this fact several years ago when his net worth was mentioned (about the same amount as Jay-Z). Puffy said people began to call him asking for money. He stated, for the record, that he can NOT go to any bank and procure 400 million dollars cash. Therefore, stop thinking these people are worth exactly what you hear…all cash.
Magic Johnson just spent 2 Billion dollars for a baseball franchise. Do you think he did it on his own? He is "worth" about the same amount as Puffy and Jay-Z; and he needed many investors to purchase the Dodgers franchise. Jay-Z is just that…a minority investor in to the Nets’, NBA franchise. But, because of his popularity from music, he stands out from the other, considerably more wealthy owners. And since the media, and some of you, give Jay-Z credit as if he is a majority owner, he won’t correct you and say what it really is, because it makes him seem more accomplished (although he is accomplished).
Oprah is reportedly worth 2.5 billion. Do you actually believe she can procure 2.5 billion, in cash, from a bank w/o getting a loan?
But for the record, even if one could outright purchase a sports franchise with his/her own money, it is not considered good business practice. Why? With any purchase a risk is involved, even if it is a pack of underwear. As a result, when purchasing a high dollar item like a sports franchise, it is best to NOT take on the total risk on your own. To procure investors who believe in you and your goals is always the best option. Therefore, if everything fails, you are not stuck the the liability on your own; which could result in a chapter 11 bankruptcy.

It is common sense that only majority owners are involved in major decision-making when it comes to sports franchises, or any business for that matter. Again, Jay-Z is just an investor…not a majority owner. According to SandraRose, Jay-Z owns less than 1% of the Nets. I value speaking from common sense along with knowledge…not just knowledge.
