For some odd reason, people think I don’t like Marlo Hampton, the new background character on The Real Housewives of Atlanta.
Honestly, I’ve never met the woman but I do consider myself having a sense of discernment when it comes to shady people and every day my spidey senses tingle as more and more info (TEA) turns up about Ms. Hampton.
I was the first to bring her to your attention and was honestly excited about the prospect of NeNe Leakes having a real arch nemisis but sadly it wasn’t meant to be as she won’t be an “official” part of the RHOA CAST.

Tonight on RHOA, NeNe and Marlo have a sit down where Hampton explains about her extensive criminal past, which she blamed on growing up in foster care in Florida.

I dunno if you’ve noticed, but Bravo has been reeeeally careful about including Marlo on their site and she’s rarely seen in recaps and “official” Bravo snapshots.

My sister’s son, and my family does not have any ill feelings towards Marlo. That’s between her and God.
All that we ask is for her not to refer to my sister as a bitch or even mention her name, because she has passed away.

Marlo’s initial arrest in 1998, stemmed from an Aggravated Battery w/Great Bodily Harm charge.
As she explains on the show tonight, Hampton was involved in an “altercation in a club” where she slashed a girl’s face open with a razor (or some other sharp object) in an apparent argument over a man.
Hampton’s victim was horribly dis-figured and is said to have almost bled to death in the club that night.
Marlo was picked up on the charge (where she smiled and posed for her first of 7 mugshots). Sources say she didn’t think there was a chance in hell that she’d be convicted on the charge.
It took almost a year, but unfortunately for Marlo, several witnesses came forward and even one of her friends chose to testify in the case, after seeing what Marlo had done to the poor girl’s face.
[Sidebar: When a person does something like SLASH A FACE, they have a jealous vindictive spirit and are most likely seeking to disfigure the person who they view as prettier then them. WATCH OUT CYNTHIA BAILEY!!! I'm sure there's some psychological term for it, but I'm not trying to go there.]
Apparently the “bitch” statement referenced in the family’s email refers to something Marlo allegedly said about “cutting a bitch” or “fighting a bitch” or something of that nature, when someone asked her about the altercation.
Also, in case you were wondering why someone with so much drama under their belt would WANT to be featured on the worlds messiest reality show, it’s probably because she’s confident that the victim in the situation will NEVER come forward to discuss specifics of the case.
In 2005, 6 years after Marlo viciously disfigured her face, the 33 year old Florida woman chose to leave her son behind and committed suicide by jumping off of a Florida bridge.
I recieved a call stating she had jumped to her death, she was a beautiful, strong minded young woman who leaves behind a son.
We will never honestly know what drove her to this decision, or what drove her to that moment of desperation, we do know that she left behind fun, loving memories.
May her soul rest in peace.
While it will NEVER be clear what drove the young mother to take her own life. One thing’s for sure, having her face scarred for life definitely couldn’t help!
I’m sure there will be inquiries about the victim’s identity after this post. However, I PERSONALLY chose not to include her name even though it’s public record.
This is all about Marlo…. and her shadiness… and why I understand how Bravo could be held legally accountable if she were to fight it out ON CAMERA with another cast member (as they all do at some point or another).
Not a good look for a “housewife” AT ALL! I think she has a huge future as a stylist or something though…

I am saddened to hear that this young lady chose to end her life; may she rest in peace. That’s for sure, however in those number of reason’s I’m sure with this woman having to look in the mirror upon her permanently disfigured face everyday of her life ranks high in those reasons. It’s one thing to cope with an aliment that you were born with or acquired from a natural process, but to live with a number of regrets(i.e not going to club that day, not meeting this boy) that may have play over and over in her conscience everyday that alone had to be torture for her within itself. As for Marlo anyone that can inflict this sort of inhumane treatment towards another person and still mention it knowing the circumstances of this woman’s fate defines her character as being the lowest of the low.
I agree with SashaT. This article leads on that Marlo is responsible for the young lady’s death, and that’s not right. I’m not taking ANYTHING away from the fact that Marlo is CLEARLY street trash, but this is reaching.

I don’t get the animosity towards the author of this blog. It’s highly unnecessary and contradictory if you read this blog on a regular basis.
As for the story at hand… While Marlo didn’t kill the poor woman in question, she did not have to call her a "bitch" knowing full well that the woman is dead. It’s tacky and just plain wrong. Again, Bravo was right to not truly include her in their promotional material, especially in light of the scandal they are already dealing with on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. That’s just common sense.
And whether or not the victim was in the wrong, Marlo shouldn’t have done what she did. Period. @Atlien-Thanks for uncovering the truth. I blogged about two weeks ago that whatever Marlo had done would certainly surface since she wanted to become a cast member of RHOA. Yes, we have all done something in our past but most mature adults are remorseful for bad things that we have done. Most people will give a tearful testimony if they had done what Marlo did. I am not saying the is to blame for the demise of this young lady, but she is a piece of shit to continue to talk about this lady in a negative way.

That fight happened 10 years ago. When we see Marlo on this show she doesn’t even look like she wants to revert back to that person and in the moments she could have she took other, safer routes. The situation she did is upsetting but at the same token its in the past. And there is no direct information for us to know that the lady killed herself because of her damages. We don’t know what type of life this woman was involved in before she got in the fight, or afterwards. Kinda messy for the family to even speak up imo, let the victim rest in peace.

03.12.05, St. Petersburg Times, Woman who jumped from Skyway bridge identified, Hillsborough sheriff’s officials this week identified the woman who jumped off the Skyway bridge to her death as Mia Djuana Williams, 33, of (address withheld due to it’s no one’s business) St. Petersburg. At 10:30 p.m. Tuesday, a motorist reported seeing a woman jump from the top span of the bridge, a sheriff’s report said. The Coast Guard recovered the body, which was identified as Williams.
03.23.05, Tiff, St.Petersburg, fl., mia was a friend, and on 3/9/05 i recieved a call stating she had jumped to her death, she was a beautiful, strong minded young woman who leaves behind a son,we will never honestly know what drove her to this decision, or what drove her to that moment of desperation, we do know that she left behind fun, loving memories, may her soul rest in peace.

Like I said on a previous article, I am from St. Pete and dont know Marlo personally. You really put some extra on this article, Marlo had nothing to do with M’ jumping off the skyway. That sad incident was bigger than her and Marlo fight and nothing to do with it trust me. I rather not get into the what rumors that float around the city about that night cause its disrespectful to bring up cause she is no longer here and only GOD and her know why she did it.

Thank you for letting the world know about this nasty situation. I haven’t seen or have heard of Marlo before, but what I can see is that she is a ugly piece of sh*t for a human being. If you are going to harm someone you don’t slash their face, and it’s right the evil b*tch did it to be evil and to destroy her face. The girl committed suicide and I am sure Marlo’s attack had something to do with it regardless of what people say.
I can’t believe this woman will be on Housewives of Atlanta, what a disgrace! Karma will be coming back to her, and I feel extremely bad for the family of the victim.

Marlo was is and always will be a gold digger. This is probably why she went after the girl in the first place. It’s terrible what greed will make a person do. Sad. No man is worth losing a life or freedom for. Marlo had a fight in the club with a girl. She cut the girl with a razor or bottle NO 1 KNOWS. NO1 KNOWS Who started the fight either. What we do know is SIX years later the lady who was cut jumped off of a bridge to her death. Maybe her kids father is the reason she gave up on her life? Maybe there were some mental issues? I know people who have had acid thrown in their faces but because of the Unselfish LOVE they have for their children and family they have decided to allow God’s date and not suicide be the reason they leave this earth. Marlo is NO saint but she’s NO MURDERER either. If you hit some1 with your car and disfigure them and SIX years later they commit suicide you didnt murder them you arent the reason they killed themselves you are responsible for what happen to them when you hit them. SIX yrs a relationship and kid later who knows what type of pain drama and confusion took place during that time involving the people in her life at THAT time. God have mercy on her soul and continue to watch over the child she left behind but Marlo didnt kill her.

Sorry, but yes everyone has a past and there are perhaps some things that we would never care to make mention of again. However I’m sure most of us hasn’t lost control so much to the point that we caused a person to nearly bleed to death. She does deserve forgiveness, if she’s truly seeked it, but Bravo has to take into consideration that at some point in her life she as an adult was unable to control herself in a heated setting and may I bring attention to the point that she was arrested for violating the probation SIX times. (No respect for authority), usually to be considered for reality t.v. you can’t have so much as a recorded dispute or restraining order so having slashed a person I don’t think that complies with the policy. And those constant probation violations with each arrest she exhibited psychiopathic behavior. And apparently she’s still doing whatever it takes to get what she wants she lied to Bravo about everything to be on the show, And hanging with the “big timers” only takes money that’s it, so given that there’s no actual occupation, seems to me she hit the big time with becoming a better criminal. (one who doesn’t get caught)

It’s a shame that so many individuals are defending a vile character such as Marlo Hampton representing Atlanta’s Housewives. I find the women Bravo selected to represent this city despicable. There are so many educated, beautiful, successful, and REAL housewives in Atlanta they could have chosen. Compared to the other Housewives series, the women representing Atlanta come across as a bunch of fake, broke, shallow and unintelligent wannabes who sleep with men for money. Personally, holding a PhD myself and making an honest six figure income, I take offense to women like NeNe, Kim and Marlo depicting such a negative image of Atlanta women. Most of the women on the Atlanta series are uneducated, unemployed, unmarried, aggressive, have shady pasts, and basically have slept their way to their so-called "socialite" status. Such an embarrassment to us real Atlanta housewives. BTW, a lot of you respondents on this blog need to go back and brush up on your spelling, punctuation and grammar including ATLien. How could you infer the idea that Marlo’s altercation with the female could have had ANYTHING to do with taking her own life???
