No one believed her, especially Phaedra and Dwight, who went in on her during last night’s episode after Phaedra found out that Kimmie had called her adorable little one an “alien baby”…

@Dondra I’m not one to argue on blogs, but if my vision serves me correctly, both of those documents says Licence Type: Licensed Practical Nurse, which is a LPN. If it was a RN the license type would say: Registered Nurse, but who knows I may see it wrong. I could really care less what type of degree she holds, I was just saying. I hold three degrees in Education, so that’s all that matters.

@SFTA, hello! I’ve seen this going around on the blogs for a while and it seems no one is asking actual nurses what the differences are between an LVN, an LPN, and an RN.
Kim Zolciak is NOT an RN. NEITHER of the documents above say "Registered Nurse", which is what an RN is (and what Kim Zolciak falsely claimed to be). BOTH documents above DO say "LPN", which is a "Licensed Practical Nurse".
So yes, Kim Zolciak LIED when she claimed to be Registered Nurse, and RN. It takes YEARS of edcuation and I knew off the bat from her previous career and the questions she had for Phaedra that she clearly was not an RN.
My sister is an LPN, having dropped out of school very early, but she went back to school and is working to become an RN.

Actually Kim stated that she was a "nurse" way back in earlier seasons of RHOA. This wasn’t the first time that she’s mentioned it, and good for her for having "something" to fall back on, other than her back itself. LOL
It seems that of all of the ladies on the show Kandi, Kim, and Phaedra, are the only ones that really have it together. People can say what they want about kim,like she lied about her age, and her occupation, in the end everything that people claims she lies about turns out to be true. @ Sharon are you saying an LPN is not a real nurse? I’m an LPN and take offense to that comment. LPN stands for Licensed Practical Nurse so i’m confused on how that is not a real nurse? I hold a license just like an RN, the scope of practice is just a little different. Anyways yea Kim lied most people have said a lie some point in their life, but good for her to have something to fall back on!
@ A Real Nurse I don’t believe that Sharon was saying that a LPN is not a nurse. She was just showing that there is a HUGE difference between a LPN and a RN. As a LPN, you know that and should also know that LPNs are not as educated in disease processes and their treatments. Hence the reason that LPN are not normally allowed to work in ICUs and are often given the most stable of patients on a floor. Yes, there are some aspects of nursing that a LPN has to be supervised by a RN. And yes, the state board of nursing can legally go after anyone who falsely claims to be either a RN or a LPN – including LPNs who claim to be RNs. In fact, the quarterly newsletter provided by my state board publishes pictures of "impostors" and how they attempted to gain employment as a RN.
She still lied on the show! She said she was a "registered" nurse. She was only a Licensed nurse. In some states, all that means is that she is an assistant to a nurse, basically. An RN has to go to school for 4 years, LPN only 2-and some states are phasing them out. She does not have enough education to talk about medicine. Especially OB/GYN medicine-you have to specialize for that.
Im an RN, prior to that I was a LPN. Kim’s license clearly states she has a LAPSED LPN’s license. She has never been a registered nurse…

I dont know WHAT Sharon is talking about, but I’ve NEVER heard of a 9 month LPN course. The very shortest is 12 months, and the LPN course I went through was 18 months. To say that Kim is not "an educated woman" just because she is an LPN vs being an RN is an ignorant statement in my opinion. There are 1000 other reasons for someone to say that Kim is not educated, but the fact that she held an LPN license is not one of them…
Also she is perfectly qualified to speak about OB GYN issues because that IS a part of LPN training and some facilities DO allow LPN’s to work in the postpartum and nursery units.
I do, however, think she’s pretty dumb for telling Phaedra that she was an RN knowing that she wasn’t and that information is totally googlable…
Not every state for LPN is 12 months or longer. LPN training is a technical program and not college level based. I am sure there are many LPN’s who are bright but cannot or did not have the opportunity to pursue their RN degrees. LPN’s do not have a degree. It irritated me when Kim said "believe it or not, I went to school and am educated." She is not an intelligent person-she is also an insult to LPN’s who are hard working and dedicated to helping others. Kim could’nt fall back on being an LPN because she is a moron.
I am very sorry but she lied on t.v to make herself look better not to gain employment, so I highly doubt she would get in trouble for that. However age is a liar. As for she is dumb, yes she does act ignorant, but for the comments about her being dumb, she us making more money than an Lpn or RN and has something to fall back on. Although Kim is very different then myself, I can’t stand that people are always hating on her. I have three college degrees and she makes more money than I do so hey. The main thing is kim LIED when she publically claimed to be a registered professional nurse when in fact she is NOT. She is a practical nurse. Much different. The important thing is that she is making false claims about herself. This shows her true character.

I think in 98/99 Kim had just had brielle so maybe that is why she did the LON program instead of RN program. She soon after got pregnant & married the rich man daniel toce’s son so she didnt need to work anymore. That may be why she let her LPN license lap.

Wow I can not believe everyone is arguing about this LPN vs. RN and she said this or that, point is that she did do something in her life, she was a nurse whether RN or LPN. Its not like she claimed to be a Doctor and is only a nurse like some nurses are now doing. My husband is a ER doctor and I’m in law school now, but anyway it was even on the news that some RNs are now introducing themselves to patients saying hello i’m doctor whoever, now that’s totally misleading. As long as she didn’t try to tell a patient or hospital or something that she was more qualified than she was then who cares what she told joe blow in a general conversation…I’d only complain if I was a patient and was misinformed by a nurse saying she is a doctor or saying she’s a RN when she’s wasn’t or in that type case not just in a conversation when it really doesn’t even matter, was she putting someone’s life at risk when she said it? She probably was saying this because you know how the housewives act like they are so great so she just wanted to say like hey I am a nurse or whatever, it was not in an important situation that it really mattered if it was RN or LPN.
Excuse me but there is a huge difference between a LPN and A RN! I am a RN. LPN’s have a very limited education and are always under the supervision of a RN. LPNs are being phased out everywhere, as they have a very limited scope of practice and cannot operate independently! I’ve had 6 major surgeries and 17 hospitalizations and an LPN has NEVER started my IV or given me ANY medication. Only an RN has done that. I have a long and extensive medical history and my fair share of dealings with Doctors and Nurses, plus I hold a Bachelor’s Degree as well. Maybe it varies from state to state, but where I reside, an LPN is NOT licensed to do these things. I don’t understand why many LPN’s get so offended when people spell out the differences. It’s not a put down, it’s just stating a fact. If an LPN wants to hold the same responsibilities as an RN, they can just simply go back to school. The fact of the matter is, Kim lied stating she is an RN which she is not. But that doesn’t surprise me much because she’s been a liar from day one.

She’s an LPN-Licensed Practical Nurse which is a nurse assistant, different from an RN-Registered Nurse. RN’s can give patients their medication where as LPN’s cannot. There are distictive differences between the two, education and salary wise which the average person doesn’t know. Most people think all nurses are the same just like there are surgical nurses which is a whole other level. Kim tries to make it seem like she was a Registered Nurse. Last time I checked you had to have a Bachekor’s Degree to be an RN which Kim does not. Biggest liar and exaggerator on the show with Sheree coming in 2nd.

Laquayva needs to do her research better. But on the other hand LPN schooling is only 12-18 months depending on the state. Kim acts like she went to school for 4 years or more. In some states LPN’s can give meds and run IVs not all of them.A full R.N. requires a B.S. in nursing, an R.N. A.S. (Associates degree) does not. Yes there are salary differences, dependent on education and degree conferred, with R.Ns making more than CNAs and LPNs. Source: My sister, who teaches nursing. I was an LPN and I decided to become an RN. I have to say that my job did not change that much. I started many IV’s and injected many different types of Meds as an LPN. I had a few more job opportunities as an RN and that was the only big difference. I work with many very intelligent LPN’s that have taught me how to be a good nurse. Have you guys met most NURSES?(LPN AND RN)….you don’t have to be a rocket scientist to do either…. and I would know
I agree Eric!!! I’m an RN and I agree with you. I was never an LPN, but I’ve worked with many good ones. We all basically do the same job. I think it’s funny how people make RN’s out to be brain surgeons. They need to meet most of my co-workers.
One other thing. I spent 18 months getting my LPN certificate and did 4 more classes at community college to get my RN. They should let me start doing surgeries now.
She’s a nurse they said she went to school from 99 – 01 i think and UCONN is a 4 year college only people who go there for a degree. I’m not saying she did not go to school but don’t sound like it she had her baby in 97 her affair with the police sergent age 49 i think at age 17 which got him a 45 day suspension so I can only (nasty) I do wish her well but come one.

I’m also an RN and I use to be an LPN. I went to a bridge program for 2 semesters (4 whole classes) and got my RN. I took another Psych nursing class and repeated Med Surg and Med Geri. I honestly think it’s funny how people think RN’s are trained like doctors. Passing out some meds and wiping butt does not take much education. I became a good nurse by working in a hospital as an LPN not my 4 extra classes at a really bad community college.
It’s quite interesting that this chick was ever an LPN, can you see her wiping stool from someone butt or drawing blood, or even caring about another human being in the way that nurse’s do, I’m a nurse and I just don’t see it… I believe she didn’t want to be a nurse and have to get down and dirty like we do so she used her looks and possibly some connections to become a "celebrity" because so many of us American’s now days is about this kind of entertainment, hell I need to get a show then, my life is much more interesting than hers…
