Flix ~ The Grammys 2009 ~ After the Show its the Afterparty!
Jermaine Dupri held his Grammy afterparty at Hyde in LA last night. Queen Latifah & her brother (above), Big Boi, Dallas Austin, Jay-Z and more all came out to party as JD held it down on the ones & twos:

In all fairness, regarding the lack of women of color at the party, as a former southern girl who now resides in LA, that’s how LA parties are. Trust me, it’s a shocker when you first encounter it. I just went out to the Conga Room at LA Live last Friday, it was R&B and HipHop night, wall to wall whites, latins and asians. I could stand all the black people in the middle of the floor and it wouldn’t be a enough to crunk a 3rd grade talent show…LOL. It’s just many of the wonderful adjustments you have to make when you live out here….and that includes those Vegas pics too.
As quite as it’s kept it isn’t that many black people in the southern LA area. Everyone else outnumbers us. So there isn’t enough of us to hold down a party alone. There are some BLACK functions and things but even when you go it’s a small number and let’s keep it real, you can’t party with everybody, even family. :O)
Nightlife in LA (at least for colored folks, i.e. black folks) ain’t the same as in ATL. Now you know why they all ran down there and won’t leave…LOL
