In a bittersweet performance, T.I. held his farewell concert Sunday night at Atlanta’s Philip’s arena. As he was surrounded by his family and friends Tip held down the stage for over 2 hours while performing for a sold out venue. As I post this, the superstar is headed to Arkansas where he is to report to prison to serve his jailtime on weapons charges by noon today. At Sunday’s concert, Tip told told the crowd not to worry and stated “I’ll see you in 366 days” as he left the stage.
Maino & Lil Duval
Lil Duval hosted the show and had me cracking me up on twitter:
T.I. took over Miami last weekend and hosted a slew of parties. His all-white event, held at Jennifer Lopez’s mansion on Miami’s Star Island was the site of the grand finale. Several celebs were spotted in the crowd including Tyrese, Killer Mike, DJ Toomp and more.
The KING, T.I.P. and his Grand Hustle Crew, which includes Young Dro, Bobby Ray (aka B.o.B.), Young LA, Big Kuntry, Killer Mike, Alfamega, Lil Duval and 8Ball & MJG all got together to participate in a photoshoot for The Source Magazine. The best part of this video for me was seeing Lil Duval walkin round with his laptop checkin his MySpace and Twittering (Twitter.com/LilDuval). When clowned about it, Duval responded that all of the crew were computer literate but none of em would admit it. 😆 All these dudes look like they ginuinely love and respect each other which hopefully will translate into some good music for them all. Grand Hustle HOMIE!
I caught up with Killer Mike to capture his Old School Atlanta Memory on tape a few weeks ago. I was expecting the same ole same ole, a’la tales of Freaknik and/or Greenbriar Mall but what I got was Mike’s XXX memories of The Foxy Lady strip club and funny tales of Piedmont Park. It gets no better than this!
Funny how all this time has passed and Killer Mike is still thinking about sex all day… Dontcha just love those A-Town men 🙂
Rick Ross‘ listening session for “Deeper Than Rap” was held last night at Artistry and the drinks and music flowed freely. I don’t really follow that whole Rick Ross/50 Cent thing so I decided to chill on the interview tip and let the other sites take care of that. I did however catch up with Killer Mike and Rocko, who both kept me more than entertained throughout the evening! We ended up turning the session into an ATL lovefest 😆
Check out my video footage from the event below:
Side Note: Can somebody tell me if Rick Ross represents Malibu in some way? He shouted out “Malibu and Pineapple” all night long….
I was feeling a bit nostalgic and wanted to post Killer Mike’s “A.D.I.D.A.S.” as today’s flashback but noticed I already had it in the archives, so my compromise is Outkast’s “The Whole World” which features Killer Mike.
