Reality became a little too real to the old school rapper turnt reality show star after he was nabbed for burglarizing a home that sat adjacent to where he was filming his DIY network show, ‘The Vanilla Ice Project.’

According to NBC Miami., VanWinkle?was taken into custody for a burglary that happened adjacent to where he was renovating a home for his Vanilla Ice Project reality show, Scheller said.
The burglary happened sometime between December 2014 and February 2015, according to a press release from the Lantana Police Department and Van Winkle is being charged with burglary and grand theft.
Numerous items including furniture, a pool heater, bicycles and other possessions were removed from the residence during the burglary.

During an investigation, authorities obtained a search warrant and found several of the stolen items at Van Winkle’s residence, leading the police to determine that the rapper “played a role” in the crime, the press release states.
Van Winkle assisted investigators with their attempt to?locate all of the items that were taken, Scheller states, adding that Van Winkle is being very cooperative.?He?was?booked with the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Department and?left the jail Wednesday, where he told reporters that the situation is all a “misunderstanding,”
“It’s sad that good news doesn’t travel this fast,” he said. “It’s just out of proportion, and I wish you guys would focus on all the good things I’ve done.”
As for his DYI show, a rep for the network issued the following statement:
