Yup… you read right. Rapper Waka Flocka Flame is a bonafide member of the Republican party!
Earlier this week on election day, Waka tweeted his support of Georgia Republican candidate David Purdue, then deleted it after his fans began to roast him online.
But wait… that’s not all. Waka was even spotted at Perdue’s Republican watch party on election night.
More photos + details below…
When Waka tweeted his support of the Republican candidate, his fans weren’t so keen on his decision.
After the backlash, Waka deleted his tweet but maintained his decision to back the Georgia Republican candidate.
He even attended a Republican watch-party event in Buckhead on election day…
Waka posed for the photo above as he ‘turned-up’ for the Republican GOP hopeful last Tuesday evening (November 4, 2014).
According to GeorgiaTipSheet:
Atlanta rapper Waka Flocka Flame was among the crowd of Republican activists and operatives huddled Tuesday night at a swank Buckhead hotel as ballot returns for GOP Senate hopeful David Perdue rolled in.
Juaquin Malphurs, known by his stage name Waka Flocka, seemingly endorsed the Republican candidate in a July tweet but later scrubbed the message of support after fans bristled.
Days later, after clinching the GOP nomination in a run off contest with Savannah Rep. Jack Kingston, the hip hop artist phoned Perdue to congratulate him on his win, a campaign spokesman confirmed to a local alt weekly.
Who Waka chooses to support is his decision. I’m just glad he’s exercising his right to vote. I think.
Then again… this is the same Black dude who said he gave up on Black girls, so why am I not surprised?
What do you think of Waka’s decision to ‘come out’ as a Republican?
Smart move? or Dumb Decision?
