In case you’ve been wondering where Gucci Mane has hiding these days, well… he’s still in jail.
Gucci, (real name Radric Davis) has been locked up since September 14, 2013, when he was found walking near Moreland and East Confederate avenues. Authorities say Davis became “increasingly agitated with officers and began cursing and threatening them” and he was in possession of a Glock 40-caliber handgun and 11 rounds of ammunition and small amount of marijuana.
Davis, who plead guilty to weapons charges earlier this year, has now been sentenced his crimes and it looks like he definitely won’t be home for Christmas.
According to the AJC, a federal judge sentenced Atlanta rapper Gucci Mane to 39 months in prison and said he may have to limit his traveling to perform for three years after he serves his sentence on a firearms charge.
Davis pleaded guilty in May to possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. The 39-month prison sentence was part of the binding agreement he reached with prosecutors. Davis has already spent 11 months in custody, which leaves him with 28 months remaining on his sentence.
Had he gone to trial, Mane could have been sentenced to up to 10 years in
As you know, Gucci Mane has been in and out of jail several times throughout the course of his career and it looks like this Davis will be in for at least another 2 years before walking out of lock up again.
Gucci spoke about his numerous lock ups during an interview back in 2009, where he reminisced about being in Atlanta’s Rice Street jail…
Upon Gucci’s 2016 release from prison, he’ll also face probation and will be allowed to leave the Northern District of Georgia no more than seven days a month unless he has his probation officer’s permission.
