[FLASHBACK: Michael Turner: 7 Kids/5 Baby Mams & Tons of Drama... ]
Turner, who was arrested for dui after a post game celebration (click HERE if you missed that) has now negotiated a lesser charge in the case and has been grated probation.
According to the AJC, the ex-Falcon was sentenced to probation and fined $1,000 on Wednesday (June 12, 2013) for the reckless driving charge he pleaded guilty to on Feb. 28, 2013 (one day before the team released him).
Last September, a Gwinnett County police officer arrested Turner on DUI and speeding charges after he clocked the football player driving down I-85 at 97 mph — 32 mph over the speed limit.
Turner pleaded guilty to the lesser charge of reckless driving charge on Feb. 28th and avoided a DUI conviction. During sentencing, he was ordered to serve 12 months probation, 30 days of community service and fined $1,000. He also paid a $250 fine when he pleaded guilty to the speeding charge.
Just FYI… no teams have signed Turner since his release from the Falcons on March 1st (which the Falcons state was due a his failed physical).
Turner played in all 18 games last season and rushed for 800 yards on 222 carries during the regular season. He had a groin surgery after the 2011 season.
Turner plans to continue a career in the NFL and left the following message for fans after his release…
This is a tough business but I understand it’s nature and respect the process.
I’m excited to begin a new chapter of my career and truly believe I have a lot left in the tank.
I also want to take a moment and thank the Atlanta Falcons fans. You guys made it easy for me to come to work every day and give you everything I had.
Even though it’s a tough day I’m excited for what the future holds. Thank you, again, to the Falcons organization. I wish you guys nothing but the best.
Congrats to Turner on clearing up that DUI charge! Maybe now a team will pick him up…
Do you think Turner will return to the NFL?
