Newly re-inaugurated President Barack Obama and his lovely wife, first lady Michelle Obama danced to Jennifer Hudson singing Al Green’s “Let’s Stay Together,” during the Inaugural Ball last night (January 21, 2013).
Right now the President and First Lady will dance to Al Green’s “Let’s Stay Together,” to be performed by… ME!!! Yes! Amazing night!

For her second-term inaugural ball, First Lady Michelle Obama returned to an old favorite: Jason Wu. Wu is the designer who created the one-shouldered white gown Obama wore to the first inauguration celebration back in 2009.
This time around, the 49-year-old wore a stunning new creation by Wu, a custom ruby chiffon and velvet gown, which flowed beautifully as she danced the night away with her newly re-inaugurated husband.

We’ve got four more years to swoon over Michelle Obama’s impeccable style…

The first lady was so gorgeous and the President was looking amazing himself! I am so happy and proud to have them as our leader in this country! #TeamObamas#
The FLOTUS looks downright stunning. And I personally love the bangs.
JHud has come so far from her American Idol win that I often forget that’s where she started. She has a powerhouse set of Oscar winning vocal cords, so congrats to her on this inaugural honor!
Just AMAZING what tomorrow brings itn’ it? And Simon said…yeah right Simon. J has been requested to sing at as many important occasions as Bey. Even for MJ mid pregnancy. I loved her dress.
WAHOO! I am loving this!
Very nice and tasteful. I plan to buy the next edition of the public school history book just for my collection. They didnt tell the story right the first time so maybe they will get it together this time. Bey was great and I was so pleased to see J-Hud do her thing. A paid holiday off to see this. PRICELESS!
Yes, Jhud, is also awesome! And, I love her and her voice is so powerful that it cannot be touch!! We need more singers like her!
First Lady and JHud are awesome ladies; Everything appeared beautiful however, I did not like the red ensemble for first lady. It added weight to her appearance. Mrs. Obama has a gorgeous figure (especially those arms). I would have stayed with the color red and changed it to a refined knit and chiffon with a flowing dropped hem line. Jennifer is an excellent vocal artist; however, the song did not do her justice. Now please someone correct me but isn’t Al Green still with us (not sure cause they are checking out so quickly these days)? I would have preferred him singing it….I’m just sayin’
They are a beautiful couple and its amazing to see a power black couple in the white house. However, I agree with you regarding J-Hud singing Lets Stay Together. Hopefully Al Green was asked to perform it and was unavailable.
@ MzJ; I think this was President and First Lady Obama’s way of remembering Jennifer. I believe that she was scheduled to sing at the last inaguration and her family was unexpectedly murdered. Due to this, someone else sang at the ball.
This was the Obamas way of making sure that Jennifer was able to indeed sing at the ball.
That blue Thom Browne coat Michelle wore was TO DIE FOR. And the blue suede boots…omg. Michelle gave you everything yesterday hunty. Ain’t no first lady EVER looked as good as Michelle.
Everything was wonderful! I love "O"&"M"’s love. That lovely red gown loved her as much as Barack. I was a little hesitant on the bangs until she walked out and her stylist had accentuated them with flip. After walking in heels all day from nearly 6am she was spectacular! The POTUS must have been tired himself. I could understand him chewing that nicotine gum during parade,I knoww he needed it. And that limo,"The Beast" was a brother’s dream ride! Those doors were at least 8" thick, like opening a vault! The way he honored Martin should have been enough to make Tavis Smiley apologize to himself for yet another direct smear of POTUS the day before. And now leaning forward especially for the most important voting turnout in 2014 that will ensure the vision we voted for in 2008 and 2012 will make brighter our future, we the people must help him rebuild this country in the way that will benefit us all.
In case anyone is interested in what among many things this planter’s peanut said? He’s angry that POTUS uses drones!?? I’d like to see his fat azz suit up and report to front line duty. He’d much rather more troops lost lives and limbs in these Bush unwinnable wars. Barack should have a special drone made with "Tavis&Friends" painted on it.
The ball was perfection. On another site I predicted that she would choose Jason Wu again, and I nailed it!
Jason is extremely consistent in his classy yet sexy and elegant designs.
Love the red gown….love the pda from the President and First Lady….love J-Hud….I also love the fact that Jamie Foxx performed for the VP. Music is Jamie’s first love, so it must have been extremely exciting to have been invited as a musician as opposed to being invited as an Oscar winning actor.
A lot of Black celebs were tweeting from inauguration related events. These folks are living it up (as I would have done also), because they don’t know if or when they may be invited to an inaugural event again. Keep it real
Siiiigh, why do people keep saying how they love Obama AND Michelle…………the POTUS name is not Obama……..lawd help us
The President and his First Lady are beautiful! Ah four more years of my fav couple.
Huh?
Anyway. I LOVE the love this man has and displays for his Queen. So beautiful.
Go, POTUS!
