Bishop Larry Trotter has been under attack online and off after what many feel was an inappropriate photo of he and his grand daughter hit the net.

The Bishop called in to the John Hannah Morning Show on iHeart Radio to offer an explanation about the photo, and while he sounds remorseful about the situation, it still doesn’t sit well with many a parent.
Trotter states:
It’s a very dark time and a very hurtful time for my family because what was innocent has become nasty and ugly.
My kids were over the weekend… I took a bubble bath (the long and short of it). My grand baby who is 4 came in and said ‘paw paw where you get all the bubbles from?”
I teased with her and said ‘I make bubbles, like when you were just a little baby.’
Asked if she could get in… and Javon, her mother, put on her trunks (as I did mine) and she was in the tub 5 minutes I guess.
But wait… there’s more.
Bishop Trotter states that it was actually his daughter Javon who took the photo and goes on to state that the photo was totally innocent.

Javon took a picture, who is her mother, and one of my family members who has access to my instagram and facebook put it out there and I said ‘that’s paw paw’s first lady’.
So it was a totally innocent thing. I know some people never bathe with their kids, I’ve bathed with all of mine. When I was coming up, we shared bath water.
I’m not ashamed of what I did, I am ashamed and hurt that it has gone out across the world and people have called me everything from a child molester to a pedophile to a nasty old man and that I should get out of the ministry… the vulgarities have just been terrible
So I shut down my instagram page and my Facebook page and just be strong for my family.
I take the blame for it… but I know that God is the vindicator. I have been pastoring 31 years, in ministry 36 years. I raised all 5 of my children. I love my grand baby. People have trusted their children with me in my house and retreats.
I just feel awful that now these attacks are suggesting that I can’t be trusted with a child…
I don’t know… perhaps it was an innocent photo… or maybe Trotter’s radio interview was a cleverly worded PR statement. Whatever the case, the photo is still quite inappropriate.
I think that shutting down his instagram and Facebook pages is what prompted people to assume he was trying to hide something… but again, I don’t see how anyone could see that photo on their timeline and NOT assume the worst.

maybe u didn’t read the article, he said that other people must not take baths with their kids, he clearly stated that he took baths with all of his children. so, basically, he is contradicting himself, by saying the grandbaby saw bubbles and wanted to get in. I believe that he was taking a bath with the grandbaby like he bathed with all of his children. at the end, he stated people have trusted other children to be at his house and at his retreats, he may be bathing with the other kids, too, since he sees nothing wrong with bathing with children.
I listened to the audio and he said that he share the bed with his grandbaby. it may be innocent, but it doesn’t sound right or look right.

I too believe the photo was inappropriate and WHY was your DAUGHTER and GRANDDAUGHTER in the bathroom while you were clearly and obviously bathing??? I don’t know him enough to judge his sincerity but I have red flags about the explanation – why was granbaby free to walk in bathroom while he’s taking a bath? so he’s in the middle of a bubble bath with that much company in the house behind an unlocked or open door? so he took the time to get out of the tub, find swimming trunks, put them on? her mama just HAPPENED to have granbaby’s swimming trunks with her – its’ wintertime? y only trunks for her–obviously she’s naked up top? hmmm…

Wait, as a grown man, he didn’t find a picture in the nude troubling. My husband would not try nothing like that because we all know what is appropriate and what is abusive to small children. Old as I am, I have no memory of my grandpa ever taking me a bath, or being placed in the tub with him for a photo. There is no question that it’s inappropriate. I believe it’s probably innocent but inappropriate nonetheless. I understand either reaction to the pic. With so many pedophiles running around, so many child abuse/sex abuse cases we have to question things and use better judgement because if someone was doing something to your child you wouldn’t want anyone ASSUMING it was innocent. I was raised by my dad when I was young and being the only girl. I never took a bath with him nor did my brothers.
I hate to say this but, a friend who was abused by her father and then allowed her daughter(s) to be raised by this man, who is labeled a sexual offender.
I don’t want to judge him. I wasnt there, and I don’t know what happend. All I know is that it does not look right, trunks or no trunks. The photo to me, was quite disturbing.

Any grown man, who does not recognize that nudity and children do not mix, has issues that lay deep. He, in his position should not have even thought that i was cute. I think the grand Daughter was taking a bubble bath & "paw paw" walked in , lil girl ask paw paw to get in , and his nasty ass grab some trunks to get in & take a pic with her which explains why the GB has no top on! I worked for bed bath body and beyond for a year. At Christmas time we had stuff for men and one of it was a bubble bath not thy advertised it as unisex. You would not believe how many men like bubble baths. Lmao. It was funny b/c they would look and say, "unisex" maybe my son/grandson or wife would use it lol. We all know damm well who it was for. Like allot of men who don’t admit to getting pedicures and manicures. Bubble baths are good for the skin.

My husband loves to takes bubble baths and our younger daughters (5 & 8)love to do so with him in our jacuzzi tub. . He always wears trunks as do they. They love this specisal time with their daddy and there is nothing inappropriate about it. This is the same man that changed their diapers and quite a few underwears when they had accidents along their way. This is not sick rather this is natural behavior between a father and his daughters whom he loves and cherish dearly. Additionally, our eldest slept with us until she was 6 and given her close rel with her grandparents slept with then until she was 9 on visits. In fact, the weekend before her nana was called home after a long battle with cancer luckily she had the insight to ask to sleep with them again. She was 13 at the time and lost her nana soon thereafter. She will never forget these last special nights. My husband is a shower guy but twice a month I run hot bubble baths for him to have a good soak before he showers off. I cant imagine him in the bathtub with a child especially a little girl. When I showed him the pic he said WTF why is he in the tub with that baby and who took that pic they need their azzes stomped! There is a cut off age for children when it comes to bathing breast feeding and sleeping with parents/adults. He posted the photo and Im trying to see how he thought this was innocent or cute.

The thing that people are not taking into consideration is that someone else is involved in taking this picture. He did not take it himself. Does that make them sick too? It’s obvious that he was not trying to be perverted or he would not have allowed anyone else in the bathroom. No, it was a smart move. No one knows what really went on, but I don’t think this man would intentionally ruin his career if he thought it would have turned to this. It’s sad it turned to this, but a lesson had to be learned. When you are being watched, you have to be careful what you do.
