The highly anticipated first episode of comedian Kevin Hart‘s new spoof series, Real Husbands of Hollywood aired last night to less than stellar reviews.
While the show definitely did NOT live up to the original spoof that aired during the 2011 BET Awards show (click HERE to refresh your memory), it did have a few funny moments.
Ok I’ve giggled a few times… but it’s not as great as I wanted it to be. Tryna figure out what’s missing… #RHOH

The Wayans show was boring too… LETOYA LUCKETT STOLE THE SERIES and she only had 2 scenes…

not funny…i was really hoping it lived up to its expectations…but it didn’t. i liked the wayans show…and i like the story line and where it’s heading. i feel like the damien wayans leading lady should be someone younger, to me ole girl is more of a "mother" or sister figure and not so much a "girlfriend"..but other than that the wayans did it for me and i will watch them, real husbands of hollywood need to bring it up a notch for me to continue to watch. the writers need to go back to the table!
on another note, maybe this is a show that shouldn’t be a show, either they are going to do it the right way and be themselves or dont do a spoof because the spoof is only making them look like spoofs ie, kevin hart!

It wasn’t laugh out loud funny to me, but it was still entertaining. It’s easy to tell they are not all actors, but that was to be expected. I also liked, Letoya Luckett. I just hope they don’t have her looking like a neck- twisting stereotype the whole series.
I liked it so far. Will continue to watch a few more episodes before I decide it’s a keeper. The only thing that got on my nerves a bit was Kevin Hart. I know he’s funny but it seem like he was trying too hard to be funny. Why was he made the butt of the jokes last night? I knew Kevin was short but he looked straight up like a little person last night….or were the other men really tall?
Didn’t watch the Wayans. Was not into the older Wayans that much so I have no reason to watch the next generation of Wayans.
I thought it had funny parts..i’m not really feeling the second generation mess..they need to try again..and that child from My Wife and Kids looks sick

I wasn’t in tune to the hype prior to the shows airing…but House Husbands made me ‘kee-kee’ a bit. Unfortunately, I couldn’t watch the New Gen tho’…America’sSupernanny was on!! Can’t miss out on the life lessons Ms Debra provides!

I knew the show wasn’t goin to be NEARLY as funny as sum of Kevin’s other projects because I’ve seen "Think Like A Man!" TERRI•BLE acting & NOT FUNNY! I do like the "cast" so I’ll give the show another couple of episodes! Hope it doesn’t end up like The Game!

Wayan show was pretty good. what was missing was DAMIEN over acting behind (tone it down take acting lessons) and he will be good. The rest of the cast was pretty good I will watch the show again.

Robin Thicke was really sexy. didn’t realize how much sex appeal he had, until the show.but anytime a man can sing, "you been a bad girl, i need to teach you a lesson" or something along that lines, has sex appeal. the show was funny. but it’s obvious the casting department didn’t want anyone overshadowing kevin hart comedy. that’s why these men were cast. i would love to see will ferrell guest spot, and another eye candy like the rock, but without a shirt. lol. or jason mamoa, lenny kravitz.
I totally forgot how sessy Robin was until I watched. I immediately said OK well I will be tuning in for him. lol

Both shows are promising. But BET is in a sad state. No quality programming. I’ve noticed them copying a lot of TV One’s programming.

Can we stop using any sentence or phrase using "haters", my goodness the blogger asked for an opinion. Anytime someone disagrees, doesn’t like a performance or show they are "hating"?! Get a new word for 2013 because that one needs to go the way of "at the end of the day", and "cray". The show was too much Kevin Hart and I like his comedy, sometimes even his acting. JB Smoove isn’t funny, never has been; they do need Bobby B. I might point out that Kevin’s crew The Plastic Cup Boyz are some of the writers for the show so that speaks volumes. On another note: notice the love affair Btwn K. Hart and BET? That comedy show isn’t funny on Friday nights either.
I gave it 10 min…didnt really laugh…moved on to something else. Hope it gets better.

The 2nd generation Wayans was ok. It was boring but folks are used to fighting, cuzzin,g and host of other shyt as entertainment so I’ll just say this…their parents weren’t that interesting to me so the kids are in the same boat as far as I’m concerned but I’m glad that WE so have more to select from in terms of show options. (but why does a black man have to always b fighting w/ his baby momma? Most of my peoples have a good rapport w/ theirs)
Not funny. If they’re trying to make fun of Real Housewives reality shows they have to realize that a lot of those reality TV shows are unintentionally funny (ie we laughing at them) and the shade they throw at each other which was totally missing from the Real Husbands of Hollywood. I mean, Real Housewives of New Jersey is much funnier than that BET scripted show.
I barely laughed. I love Kevin Hart but this was a miss. Going to keep watching it because maybe that first episode was the pilot.

I was crackin’ up the whole show – the set trippin made me spit out my juice. Boris, Belly, and Robin were lovely. Can’t wait til’ next week. Liked 2nd Generation Wayans too. But the honorary does look sick, does he even weigh 100 pounds?

Kevin is overacting. It was funnier as an award show clip. I’ll keep watching because the other cast members are pretty good including Robin.
I hate to be critical, but I agree with a lot of the negative comments above. Normally – I find Kevin HIGHLARIOUS when he’s just being himself – especially during interviews.
However, on this show – he was trying waaaaay too hard to be funny and I barely chuckled in the first episode. He either needs to tone it down and keep it more natural – so it has the "real" (albeit still fake) reality feel to it.
I find this a recurring issue with most comedians who try to develop sitcoms. They just overdo the acting and try so hard to be funny – that it goes over our heads. Very few can be over-the-top and still produce genuine laughs (i.e. Martin and The Fresh Prince)
I thought the funniest scenes were the removable sleeves scene in episode 1 – and the scene where Kevin was having lunch with Robin in episode 2. I was literally in tears at the lunch scene because Kevin’s attempt to get attention and prove he was famous was subdued, his facial expressions were hilarious – and the celebrities who showed up seemed natural.
Overall – JB and Nick were the scene stealers to me – primarily JB.
So – sorry for the essay – but I really think this show has potential and I want it to win! Eventually when they work out the kinks – I agree that it should be an hour.
So to sum it up: have better plots, tone down the overacting, keep it natural and make it longer.
