Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed, a close friend and former classmate of Bounce television executive Ryan Glover, shared words about the bright 11-year-old, who passed away last week after suffering from injuries sustained from a jet ski accident on July 6th.
Kile’s stepdad Usher Raymond also attended the funeral, but appropriately remained out of the spotlight.
A white horse-drawn buggy transported Kile, who many described as “A Beautiful Mind,” to the funeral service which was held at the Wieuca Road Baptist Church on Peachtree Street in Atlanta. Kile was dressed in an all white suit from head to toe.
Service arrangements were handled by Phaedra Parks, who coordinated the event with Willie Watkins Funeral Home. Others who appeared to show their respects include Nene & Gregg Leakes, former Atlanta Mayor Andrew Young, Sister2Sister editor Jamie Foster-Brown and more.

The funeral program honored Kile with several photos taken with family and friends. Tameka’s words about her son, “A Beautiful Mind” was used to describe the bright youngster on the cover as well. He was also remembered in a video, titled, “A Beautiful Mind.”
Just hours before the accident that occurred on Lake Lanier, Kile sent a postcard from his iPhone to family and friends. The family shared the postcard in the program where Kile wrote:
Hello from paradise,
wishing you were here. Our vacation is everything we have hoped for and more. We’re also excited to come home to family and friends.
There were several film and camera crews around the area and I knew a video would soon be coming. Rolling Out posted the following live from the scene footage where they also interviewed Willie Watkins, who spoke of Kile as a ‘soul without sin’.

While it’s clear that nothing can replace her son, helping others save their’s is a noble goal on her part. No mother should ever have to bury their child.

No mother should ever have to bury her child. I pray for her strength, peace and gods grace and mercy to cover her. I find it so un necessary to start off your condolences with ‘even though I’m not a fan of Tamekas’. Tact and couth is truly something not everyone has.

It is obvious that Kile was a gifted and talented spirit, I am truly saddened this happened.
From the post card alone, you can tell Kile had a way with words and was a very respectful and grateful person.
I don’t know why tragic things happen to great people but I guess we just have to accept it.

@Uh: I am not sure of her church membership, but funerals are moved all the time based on capacity, etc. I believe that Left Eye’s funeral was held at one of New Birth’s locations. The church had the space to accommodate her family, friends, fans, supporters, etc.
Death is so sad but we all have to face it one day. My condolence goes out to the entire family, may God be with you in your time of need.

Play nice people. The difference of opinion is what makes this world so interesting. What may be sensitive to some, is not to others. So as insensitive and out of place it may sound, they have their right to a comment and opinion. Some people are not afraid to go against the grain and say what feel. I am not condoning the comments but I am not upset by them either. To the above poster, you will be amazed what children understand. My three year chases and waves at airplanes in the sky because the last time he saw my daughter she was on plane headed to Korea. To him she has not gotten off yet. When he goes to sleep at night, he wakes up every morning and says, "ma, i missed you" because he knows that when his eyes is closed, he no longer can see me. So imagine what a child might feel to know that their brother is tucked away in a box, sleep, and they get to watch that box go in the ground. He understands, maybe not at our level but he understands.
I know Tameka and Usher are going to a custody battle but I do feel that if she needs time, which I encourage her to take, that Usher will care for them boys until she is mentally and emotionally able. He can provide her all the support she needs and my advice to her is to take time and don’t lose yourself in making sure all else is fine and functioning as normal as possible. Big Hugs and Kisses to the whole family.

This is so heart breaking!! My son and Kile were born a few days apart that year. I pray for comfort and strength during this time for Tameka’s heart and soul!! The thought of not having my son is unbearable and brings tears to my eyes!! YOU ARE IN MY PRAYERS TAMEKA and RYAN!!

Tameka is really strong. She can’t even mourn one son without another son crying. I can’t imagine. God bless the entire family, and everyone please either continue to (or start to) send positive prayers up for the entire family.
Unfortunately, the funeral doesn’t end their grief. I know from personal experience losing my father as a teenager. This has all probably been a whirlwind for the family with all of these major tragic events happening so close together. When the family sits down and there is idle time, that’s when the true grief sets in.
Agreed. It is after the funeral when people pull away. That’s when you need the support most…when that person is in the ground and the physical body will never be seen again. That’s what’s hard…letting go of that physical presence.
The baby picture of Kile in the upper right hand corner of the video at 1:26 is heart stoppingly stunning. His eyes just glow with a light of a pure spirit. You can tell that he had an amazing spirit.

From the footage above, Tameka certainly held it together. I see the point Mary was trying to make about the baby being with Usher and Tameka not having to deal with it, but I’m sure he wasn’t with Usher because he needed to be with his brothers/mothers up front. Usher SHOULD have been in the back. I’m guessing that’s why he’s not commented on this whole situation as well, out of respect for the family; to distance himself. I will continue to pray for the entire Glover family, and for Tameka to find peace and comfort sooner rather than later.
Adding to say, I think it’s very tacky of the woman behind Tameka to be talking on the phone while following the casket. NO phone call is that damn important. Come on, people!
My heart bleeds for Tameka,Ryan,Kiles heartbroken siblings and extended family & friends. I just don’t agree with pastors when they say a child’s death or anyone’s death is part of God’s plan and he’s in a better place,because no matter how strongly you believe in heaven or not I never see people in a hurry to get there…. God didn’t cause this tragic accident and the truth is there are many of us left wondering what does happen when the lights go out! God bless this family and so many others suffering in mourning over a lost loved one.
