Whitney Houston was honored by her family and friends Saturday morning (February 18, 2012) in an invitation only “homegoing ceremony” held in New Jersey’s New Hope Baptist Church.
The ceremony aired LIVE on several television stations and also streamed live on the internet, reportedly viewed by at least 14 million of her fans.

Thank you ATLien for sharing this with us! Another superb job. I personally do not care whether anything is ever mentioned of Bobby in Whitney’s funeral documents etc. Bobby didn’t die,Whitney did. This is Whitney’s funeral,not Bobby’s. I wish him all the health and great blessings that his life through God’s blessings can offer upon him. I am sad for his heavy heart because he loved Whitney and they share a 19 year old daughter. But we can’t turn back time, and their choices in life were their own.The world knew her before they knew him. Her God given talents and all she accomplished with them along with her personality and glorification of God no matter what vices entered her life, have been stamped eternally in time. I feel sad for the mourning that Bobby will go through because of Whitney’s untimely death. I feel even more grief for her mother and daughter who won’t find peace unless tv’s and media is tuned out of their lives. Michael has been gone for 3 years and cameras are still following his family.ATLien is only doing the job that she chose to do. Some are yelling at her but why even come here if you want to read watered down half azzed shyte?I don’t see how Whitney’s "official Obituary" turned into Bobby Brown in the first place. But we can say whatever we want and it’s all good…we’re all heard..or read.

Her family is hurting, so what she was married to Bobby, he didn’t make her life better he made it worst. He spit in her face in front of both his mother and their daughter. He hit her, he cheated on her, smh. Bobbi Kristina didn’t fight for him to stay. He was her EX husband, if it was all about Whitney & Bobbi Kristina he would’ve sat in the back of the church.

So…the entire funeral program referenced her career ONLY? I thought that maybe it would be more personal. I worked with a printer that almost exclusively produced funeral programs, and even the programs of famous people included passages about what they enjoyed in their spare time or charities that they gave time to. Oh well, that was what the family wanted. I’ll be praying for all of them, including Bobby.

Thanks ATLien, sharing. My heart also goes out to the family of Whitney Houston. To her mom,her daughter, Bobbie, and yes, to Bobby Brown as well. Whether people still fail to acknowledge it, family, close friends and etc. Whitney loved Bobby. Bobby loved Whitney. They were and are the only ones, who lived their lives. Its wrong to blame Bobby for this outcome. When people are hurt, they do things, say things. Fact of the matter is this, things happens in marriages. be it good or bad. As a result of their status in society, everything that this couple did or did not do, was out their for the entire world to judge. Whitney’s service was not about Bobby. It was about celebrating the life of Whitney Houston. The family, did what any one of us would have done. In essence, what they saw fit. At this point, respect their privacy and allow them to grieve and heal. I am not sure how the loss of her will be dealt with, over the next days, weeks months, but I certainly pray for good. Whitney, was a remarkable woman, loved by many.

Wow…what was really interesting to me is that it seemed that there was an extra effort to leave Bobby out of Whitney’s obituary, however in trying to omit him their was an omission of their daughter and that’s really the shame in all this. Whitney was PROUD of being a mother and that should have been expressed in this program, not just some one liner about Bobbi Kristina. Yeah it was good to read about Whitney the entertainer and all her many accomplishments, but it would have been nice to make more mention of Whitney, the woman and the mother at least mention the relationship with her daughter. The Winans too much family show doing nothing on stage – you took advantage of an opportunity because you were on television — I never understood Marvin’s message. And, last Rev Kim Burell, you were right a change had to come. Aretha I am glad you stayed at home to take care of yourself among all that Drama. Poor Bobbi Kristian!!!

Whitney Houston burst on the scene in ’85 with her debut album, "Whitney Houston" and what an introduction to this brilliant voice and young lady! I admired Whitney so much and respected the way that she showed respect for Black men. I did not always agree with the way she was treated by her husband, i don’t think i would have stood by while my wife and mother of my child took drugs, that’s all. Whitney you are the greatest and we will always love you, baby!
Thank you whoever you are for sharing this with everyone. I sit here and for the past couple of weeks I still can hardly believe Whitney is gone. I have her Cd of all her greatest hits propped up near my tv but can not find myself to watch it yet.
She was my idol. She was my favorite and a part of me is lost as well with knowing she is not here any more. I know like Michael Jackson also she WAS making a comeback and oh how happy I was about that. I held on to the faith knowing she would be back again center stage with that beautiful personality and voice. I am tired of reading all the negative things and all because people will continue to say whatever they want. The majority of us know she was a Child Of God and she was a fantastic person as well here on earth.
No one will ever fill your place Ms Whitney and the letter from your Mother Cissy had me in tears. May you Rest In Eternal Peace and may the naysayers stop their madness.

I just want to say that I had watched the funeral on television and it was very touching to bare. As we all can see that ppl are leaving here on a day to day basis whether or not you have found God or not, he has to make the decision when he wants to take you home with him.He had chosen a great legend, and he never fails, so with all do with respect with all of the entrapments that Whitney and Bobby had, they shared for a while. Bobbi Kristina your mother is watching over you and it’s going to be hard but she is going to make way to be your guidance from here and on out. May God bless the family, but it’s hard to lose someone who you love, cherish, and etc but when it’s his or her time to go there isn’t anything that you can do to change it.
Well after reading all these comments – I have some of my own. 1. Whitney and Bobby did drugs admittedly together. 2. He was her husband for over 10 years – I would have mentioned him in the obituary but I do understand why Cissy wouldnt want to. I am a mother and we always look for someone else to blame because surely it couldn’t be my child. 3. OK – I understand not mentioning Bobby but what about her father. Cissy did not mention Whitney’s father. This is true testament of Cissy character. It doesn’t matter what happen between Cissy and him – he was and will always be Whitney father. Lastly, I feel that Bobby and all of his children should have had a seat provided in the family section. Whitney was their step mother for over 10 years. However, Bobby should have gotten this straight before the funeral. At the end of the day – he should have stayed – but he should have sat with his children – as they were grieving too. thanks for the post.
