The super-producer shares his joy at finally finding love in an interview with Jamie Foster-Brown featured in the March 2012 issue of Sister2Sister magazine.
Perry reveals that it was only after that therapeutic appearance on The Oprah Winfrey Show, where he discussed being molested as a child, that he was finally able to release his demons and allow someone in his heart.
“About four or five months ago, I ran into an ex of mine. We were crazy in love. It was crazy, crazy love between the two of us. It was insane,” Tyler said.
“We had a conversation after the ‘Oprah’ thing and everything. And it was healing for both of us because I know that, had I not done the show, she and I probably would have never spoken again.”
Is he or isn’t he headed towards jumping the broom soon? Well according to TP, when/if he does… we’ll probably be the last to know.
“I swear to you, I will be married and probably have kids before anybody knows it,”says Perry neither confirming or denying rumors that he’s engaged to model Gelila Bekele.
“Listen, I’m very much in love. I’m very much in love. And she loves me. I don’t talk about it,” he says while remaining tight lipped on the subject of his personal life.
“We don’t talk about it. And it’s just that if I give that up, I don’t have anything else.” (READ MORE)
On another note, Tyler plays the leading man in his upcoming film, Good Deeds….
A successful, wealthy businessman, Wesley Deeds (Tyler Perry) has always done what’s expected of him, whether it’s assuming the helm of his father’s company, tolerating his brother’s misbehavior at the office or planning to marry his beautiful but restless fiancee, Natalie (Gabrielle Union).
Wesley is jolted out of his predictable routine when he meets Lindsey (Thandie Newton), a down-on-her-luck single mother who works as a cleaning person in his office building. Outspoken, impulsive and proud- and also recently evicted- Lindsey struggles to make ends meet for herself and her young daughter. But when Wesley offers to help her get back on her feet, his innocent good deed ignites and unexpected attraction- and suddenly Wesley finds himself caught between the life he thought he wanted and the powerful desires of his heart .
A moving, uplifting romantic drama about relationships and the defining choices we make in our lives, ‘Tyler Perry’s Good Deeds’ is written, produced and directed by Tyler Perry, and stars Perry, Thandie Newton, Brian White, Rebecca Romijn, Jamie Kennedy, Eddie Cibrian, Jordenn Thompson, Beverly Johnson, with Phylicia Rashad, and Gabrielle Union.
Chile I guess…
It’ll be quite interesting to see if TP can actully pull off being the lead in this film without donning his Madea wig, but perhaps having LOVE in his life gave him what he needed to make this role believable. Who knows…
Good Deeds hits theaters February 24, 2012.
