The super-producer shares his joy at finally finding love in an interview with Jamie Foster-Brown featured in the March 2012 issue of Sister2Sister magazine.
Perry reveals that it was only after that therapeutic appearance on The Oprah Winfrey Show, where he discussed being molested as a child, that he was finally able to release his demons and allow someone in his heart.

“About four or five months ago, I ran into an ex of mine. We were crazy in love. It was crazy, crazy love between the two of us. It was insane,” Tyler said.
“We had a conversation after the ‘Oprah’ thing and everything. And it was healing for both of us because I know that, had I not done the show, she and I probably would have never spoken again.”
Is he or isn’t he headed towards jumping the broom soon? Well according to TP, when/if he does… we’ll probably be the last to know.
“I swear to you, I will be married and probably have kids before anybody knows it,”says Perry neither confirming or denying rumors that he’s engaged to model Gelila Bekele.
“Listen, I’m very much in love. I’m very much in love. And she loves me. I don’t talk about it,” he says while remaining tight lipped on the subject of his personal life.

This maybe off subject but I’m going to share it anyways. I knew Mr. Perry had an issue with women. When I attending his last two shows in Miami for no reason he chose to comment on me on both occasions. I felt that it was distasteful and disrespectful to someone that’s buying last minute tickets that costed me about some people’s monthly income. True enough, my then fiance now husband came in a little late, but when the usher showed us our seats that were in the 2nd or 3rd row somebody was squating in my seat. He then had the never to sing into the mic "I ain’t saying she no gold digger but she ain’t messing with no broke nigga". The second time I had front row seats got their early and sat down with my husband, but I left to go get me a magarita on the rocks with salt and when I got back he was already on stage. I said to myself here we go again. As i made it to my seat he once again pointed me out of a whole lot of people on BP time, to say "welcome Wendy Williams" sure enough I had my 23-26 inch virgin indian remy in my head but damn!

I have been to every Tyler Perry Show in my city(Miami)and have sat directly up frot(which I will never do again), in the balconies, in the middle and in the back and the most I’ve ever paid(this was for my front row seat) was $65.00.
Now if you know someone whose monthly income is $130.00 they need to get a better job or some education one.

I am very happy for Mr. Perry. I love that he has been as candid as he has about his struggles and now triumphs. Whatever stains that may have been there as a result of the abuse (failed relationships, questioning his sexuality), I believe that he is a strong Christian brother that has allowed God to deliver him and make him whole.
I think that a fine man like Tyler Perry deserves a real chance at happiness.He has dealt with his demons of his past and I believe that God has delivered him completely. I am so happy that he revealed his abuse. Hopefully it will inspire thousands of men who have had the same horrible secret they have been keeping inside. This unfortunately is not an isolated situation but is just recently being openly talked about.
As a former child protection worker I know how deep this issue goes in our society.However it is also highly unlikely that talking about the abuse one time on the Oprah show qualifies as treatment. Mr. Perry would benefit from seeing a qualified mental health counselor or M&F therapist.
The "believability factor" of his sudden announcement of being in love with this model is questionable at best. Tyler Perry needs to recognize that the American public is not stupid and we can tell when two people are genuinely in "love." I would love to see Tyler Perry in a relationship that is happy, stable and believable. He will be better off getting some professional counseling for himself…because he is not alone with this issue. For moral support he could take Donnie McClurkin along too.

I believe that Tyler Perry has been sexually abused so much that his identity is skewed and he is unsure of what he is or who he wants. He definitely needs some professional counseling but who can he trust being the big celebrity that he is? Oprha is not a psychologist and even though she can identify with his pain since she was raped as a kid, their backgrounds are totally different. Tyler was abused by males and females and repeatedly assaulted by males and made to keeep quiet by his church and community.
Until he gets counseling and seeks justice through the courts he will never truly be happy in his own skin. This woman cannot help him in any way but be his friend. He shouldn’t try and fool the public into thinking that he is straight and ready for marriage and children. He would do a disservice to her and any kids they have.

Sad Sad Sad. On so many levels. Starting with his "pronouncement" of love (a la Tom Cruise), to these post ranging from "pray the gay away" to all gay men die of AIDS.
Couple of people hit upon the root of the matter, which has nothing to do with dressing in drag in his god awful movies. Its his whole demeanor, aura or however one might choose to describe it, that identifies him as gay to others. He EXUDES it from his pores. Some refer to the perception as "gaydar" but I tend to just think its basic human intuition for in-authenticity, period. I find it appalling, that still, in this day in age, people still question the origins of sexuality, assuming its a choice or that it can be prayed away. I was born how I am, but confused and then married; HUGE disaster. We split and went our seperate ways as close friends. She deserved BETTER, although she still believes me to be bisexual etc. As far as molestation, it doesn’t PUSH the victem one way or the other in my experience. I was molested by men and a woman but I blame none of them for my orientation. It many change how you process the experience etc, but most people are probably predetermined by then, if not at birth.
So, exactly what is my problem, then? My issue with him, regardless what I might believe of his orientation, is that nobody likes to see anothers affection made a fool of. What I think of him as gay etc is my issue and none of his business. As its not anyones business what you think of me. But the moment he starts rubbing in our faces evidence of that which he refuses to admit, he insults our intelligence. Unfortunately, in hollywood, this translates to the big screen none to well. If you have an actor/writer who is attempting to deceive you straight out of the gate, what more can you expect when it comes to story lines, scripts etc. Comes off as entirely contrived and unnatural, period. So, I simply choose to not watch but I wish much Mr. Perry love and success, and even more, peace within.
I don’t care whether Tyler Perry is gay or not, but I do believe that he should be honest and proud of his sexual orientation, whatever it is. I do believe that he is gayer than the roaring 20′s, but that’s just my opinion.
First of all, if Tyler Perry is gay or not who cares? At the end of the day he is not having a relationship with YOU! He’s just sharing his talent not his personal life. If you don’t like Tyler Perry just do NOT watch his movies! HE IS NOT FORCING YOU! Is he? Do yourself a favor and keep your personal opinion to yourself if you have nothing good to say about another person. FYI, you don’t pay his bills! jajaja. Get yourself usefull and be a BETTER person. Maybe you can start by following his steps! Right?
After reading all these so called comments, one thing is apparent.
A lot of people need to GROW UP!

As opposed to the number of comments about his efforts, desire for other?
A person is not defined by who they sleepwith.
