Remember all that hoopla a few weeks ago about Stacey Dash being booted from VH1′s popular new series “Single Ladies”?

And after Stacey’s co-star Lisa Raye took time away from her Italian vacation to comment on the situation, it was apparent to everyone that the story was way more than just a rumor.
Well unfortunately it appears there was some truth to all that internet chatter.
Dash is officially leaving ‘Single Ladies’ and has issued a statement regarding her departure…
I truly enjoyed playing Val on ‘Single Ladies’, but I have decided to leave the show. I have to be back in LA with my children right now and the ‘Single Ladies’ shooting location makes that impossible.
I wish VH1 the best of luck with the show and in maintaining the strong fan base we developed in season one.
VH1 also issued a statement, which reads:
VH1 respects Stacey’s decision and her commitment to what she feels is best for her family.
We thank her for all of her hard work in making ‘Single Ladies’ a success right out of the gate, and we wish her nothing but the best in her future plans. (source)
In my previous post, I asked if you would miss Stacey if she left the show and many of you stated that a show without Stacey would be no show… apparently VH1 feels otherwise.

She’s a beautiful woman and clearly the storyline was centered around her. I just thought her acting was sub par. Definitely easily replaced…..

The excuse about wanting to be with her kids is a bunch of bullshit. Her kids are NOT young babies, so what’s with that blatant lie? Anyway, I don’t even watch the show cuz I can’t stand Lisa Raye’s arrogant ass, so I really don’t care how any of this turns out. Hope Stacy got some other money coming in from somewhere, cuz she ain’t worked in a hot minute.
She looks a lot like Teena Marie in the first photo for some reason (in the eyes). Good luck to her, hope the show dies a quick death. They deserve better roles.
I agree, Nia Long would be a great replacement, unfortunately, she is preggers. Gabriel Union is a homewrecker, if she is Stacy’s replacement, I’ll stop watching the show. Kesha Knight Pullman would be a good replacement also.
I would watch it if Meagan Goode replaced Stacy. I do wish Stacy would stay though.
I cannot see a show without her. It is her shop, her apartment, and she is the most realistic of a true single lady if replaced Val by another person that is crazy there is only one Val. I would give it a show or two chance if it is not hot I won’t watch.

What a bunch of crap. Stacey didn’t leave that show for her kids, especially when one of them is grown and the other is on the way to being grown. If her kids were a factor then she should have never taken the job in the first place.
She just doesn’t want to admit that she and LisaRaye butt heads. They had issues back on that movie Gang of Roses and LisaRaye had Elise Neal fired from that Just Us TV show. How shameful that a group of women on a new job can’t seem to all get along.
Nia Long is too good for this type of show. Her acting is superior to all the other actors currently cast and she probably would’t stay for more than one season. Meagan Good or Terri Vaughn might do. They could also make Laura London a central character since she kind of came and went. Her character was intertwined with Stacey’s character because of some man.
LisaRaye might very well be a B.I.T.C.H on feet, but for a Pre-menopausal woman well into her forties in Hollywood, which by the way for a Black woman is like Dinosaur years you all are really giving her power that she doesn’t have…. There is also the strong possibility that she won’t fair well with the next actress and especially if there is to much comparison as to who’s the finest like I’m sure there was between her and Stacy Dash and so then she will be angry again with some other pretty actress. I would hope Queen Latifah and her business partner who are LisaRaye’s bosses wouldn’t let her come in and wreck what they have worked so hard to build.
