The Philadelphia Eagles Have reportedly agreed to a new 6-year, $100 million contract with quarterback Michael Vick.
The deal completes Vick’s comeback a little more than two years after getting out of prison on dogfighting charges.
Vick’s conviction and jail time cost him most of his previous $130 million contract (then the richest in league history) that he signed with the Atlanta Falcons earlier in his career.
Of course, as with all NFL contracts the length and advertised dollar amount are meaningless. Even if Vick is still an Eagle in six years (unlikely), he will almost certainly get a new, renegotiated contract before then.
What does matter is the guaranteed money: $40 million. No matter what happens on the field. (source)

I’m very glad to see that Mike is getting more money, and hopefully now he will be able to pay off his debts and move on with his life for sure, and once and for all.
It’s time to get over the dog fighting mess, I have and so should others. None of us really know him like his family so how can any of us stand in judgement of him. He’s gone to jail, he’s done his community service, now leave the man the hell alone and worry about your own lives at this point.
ABSOLUTELY! He paid his debt to society and STILL PAYING voluntarily. Nobody made him work for the Humane Society. He asked to do it. I read that he also didn’t settle his debts with creditors that he said he would pay ALL that he owed.
He has turned his life and around and I think he he is sincere.

I was on the aspca pg responding to this question & I was the only one that I could see out of hundreds comments that said he needs to be able to move on. Of course, they persecuted me too…and even said they felt sorry for my dog. Most said he should die, some said eaten by dogs others said a bullet to the back of his head!
