It’s official. Tyler Perry is sick and tired of Spike Lee.
Perry and Lee are both phenomenal movie producers. Each with their own individual styles and views. Dr. Cornel West once compared the two, stating that “Spike Lee is great… Tyler Perry is good” but that comparison was subjective in my opinion.
While both men are successful in their own right, Spike has continued to blast Perry on the “buffoonish” nature of his central characters, like Madea and Mr. Brown.
Perry already told the haters to “let that sh*t go” a while ago, but he’s now totally OVER it and has officially told Spike Lee where to go…
I’m so sick of hearing about damn Spike Lee. Spike can go straight to hell! You can print that. I am sick of him talking about me, I am sick of him saying, ‘This is a coon; this is a buffoon.’ I am sick of him talking about black people going to see movies.
This is what he said: ‘You vote by what you see,’ as if black people don’t know what they want to see.
I am sick of him — he talked about Whoopi, he talked about Oprah, he talked about me, he talked about Clint Eastwood. Spike needs to shut the hell up! I’ve never seen Jewish people attack Seinfeld and say, ‘This is a stereotype.’
I’ve never seen Italian people attack The Sopranos, I’ve never seen Jewish people complaining about Mrs. Doubtfire or Dustin Hoffman in Tootsie. I never saw it. It’s always black people, and this is something that I cannot undo. … We don’t have to worry about anybody else trying to destroy us and take shots because we do it to ourselves.
It’s attitudes like [Lee's] that make Hollywood think that these people [characters like Madea who are based on real-life members of his own family] do not exist, and that’s why there’s no material speaking to them. (source)

Wow Tyler pulled up his skirt and showed SPike them nutts!! I am over the whole Madea/Mr brown stuff(really i was never feeling either) but Spike needs to show a new body of work instead of the talking.Come on Spike back it up with a new movie!!! Ill support him as long as it’s not another girl 6
Tyler Perry needs to pull one of his many skirts. Drumming up PR for his cr@ptacular movie by ranting over dead issues is just another reason why I’m happily indifferent to his productions and can live my life to the fullest knowing that I didn’t pollute my self-respect by support his dribble. My kids don’t know him and hopefully, if I’ve done my job right, they will never have the need for his brand of cultural mediocrity.
Or at least put it in proper perspective as one man’s singular vision of a minor slice of the African-American experience. I’ll support him when I have a choice between an honest look at our culture and his pseudo-jovial focus.
Damn right, I agree with Tyler. Is Spike a Hater. He need to go sit on his ass, he is just another brother trying to bring another brother down. SMH….Do what u do best Spike and continue to sit on the sidelines of the KNICKS game.

Is this the same Spike who incorrectly portrayed blacks role in the war in Miracle at St. Anna or whatever it was called?? See that’s the problem with us, too quick to cut each other down for our benefit.
I Agree with Tyler!Tyler is not the first man to put on a dress and play the role of a woman. Wesley Snipes,Ving Rhames and others have as well but because Tyler is doing better than him he wants to criticize. Spike Lee Please Go Sit Your A** down some where. What about all the good Tyler Perry is doing not only for his people but others as well. I don’t see his a**(Spike) out here helping his people out. He is not the first man who’s worn a dress and make up. Jamie Foxx as Wanda, Martin Lawrence as Big Mama and Shanaynay the list goes on… Did Spike Lee have anything to say about those characters? Why must black people be so negative toward one another? It’s ridiculous!! I mean it’s really simple, if you don’t like his movies or tv shows don’t watch them…. Spike Lee needs to sit down. His whole style of directing is predictable and boring. Let Tyler get his money and build his legacy how he chooses. You can’t please Negros. I don’t know any Black women who act like Monique’s character, whatsoever. Therefore, how does a fictional character represent Black women? And even if there is one woman in the world like Monique’s character, she absolutely does not represent ALL black women. Stop it people…for real. We should be past the days where one Black person can mess up and we all feel like he/she represents us. I, only, represent me.
spike needs to be quiet because a lot of his films had a similar theme…he also cast the same actors film after film.., so right now its tyler’s time to shine…for spike or anyone who dosen’t like his movies …do watch them…
