Sometimes a traumatic situation makes a person better instead of “bitter”. After all, it takes pressure to make a diamond right?
Well Real Housewives of Atlanta alum DeShawn Snow has turned her trauma into a total transformation after parting ways from her cheating husband, former NBA baller Eric Snow.

DeShawn has lost over 30 pounds (and counting) and looks totally amazing!
The former Atlanta “housewife” shares the secrets to her weight loss success PLUS a few before & after shots below:
DeShawn admits that it was the failure of her 12 year marriage to Snow that helped her pack on the pounds, but she got her mind right and now she’s fit and finer than ever!
“I felt everything was out of my control.
I had no control over anything that was happening in my life and the weight and working out was something I could control.”
According to USMagazine, Snow, 37, credits her close friend and personal trainer, Trey Crump, with keeping her motivated through her relationship troubles.
“[When] Trey heard [of my divorce], he texted me and was like ‘Meet me at the gym at 6 a.m.’ He didn’t ask me any questions, we just worked out. That was his way of getting me out of bed and then once I started, I just got consistent.”
Snow says she works out two hours a day and she’d like to lose at least 10 more pounds. As for her diet, she makes sure she eats in moderation.
“I supplement with protein shakes and I try to stay away from carbs.
Sometimes I’ll have seafood or vegetables. Basically it’s portion size, a maintenance thing.
Three years after her stint on Housewives, Snow is ready to impart her body confidence secrets to others through scripted TV dramas and yes, another reality series.
All of my projects are basically to empower and encourage young women.
The hardest thing in life is to believe that things happen for a reason. You can’t be a victim, you have to be a victor — press through it — and know that success is the best revenge.
Snow, who obtained her masters of divinity a while ago, continues to spread a message of positivity via her FaceBook page. Recently she shared the following quote:
It is impossible to erase all the parts of our lives that are associated with anything that now is painful because it is part of OUR STORY.
Our stories are a part of who we are and they define our choices and expectations. Therefore, we need to examine our stories in light of God’s truth and He will show us what is faulty and teach us a new way.
When I read it, I honestly felt like that message was directly for me but I figured I’d share it with y’all.

I hate to be negative but she got on my nerves on the show acting like she was all that and a bag of chips-no pun intended. She is only losing that weight so she can find another man! She shouldnt have been so comfortable getting fat (with what the chef was cooking cause she couldn’t by the way )while spending all of Eric’s money. She got on my damn nerves with that wired shut looking mouth. Now you wanna get helpful and not boogie cause yo man gone. Bish boo bye!!!

In life people go through things and sometimes their weight may go up and down but your vows are suppose to be forever, for better or for worst, after all she has proven that the weight can be lost so that isn’t a reason for her no good husband to cheat on her. I think she looks great and I wish her much success and YES she should get fine for the next man.

Deshawn, I am so proud of you. You look good, healthy, and blessed. When we get married and begin to have children we get lost in our roles as woman. We become mothers and wives. If at any time we default on those roles we find ourselves looking for that person we were prior to marriage. We begin the search of finding the true authentic us. But not only does the weight go, Restoration comes Transformation begins. I always remembered what my grandmother used to say, The will of GOD will not take you where the GRACE of GOD will not protect you. Have faith and stand firm on your beliefs. I’m glad to hear she’s slimmed down from her unhealthy frame before. It’s refreshing to hear that she did it the right way–through healthy diet and exercise–instead of some bizarre weight loss surgery or fad diet.
However, Deshawn was one of the shallowest and most annoying wives ever featured on RHWA! Let’s be real. She thought she was better than everyone else simply because her husband (not her) made a lot of money. Her charity was a joke and she even flaunted how much money she was donating to her grimy, creepy pastor!
I was so glad when she got cut from another season. I couldn’t stand to watch her talk through her teeth (all gritted together).
I am sorry, even when others brought her fashions she wore awful clothes. Poor judgement! Please don’t let her get a reallity show…she is so so boring. Just stay off television and preach the word…please.
@"O Now" I have to agree with you…I mean why the sudden motivation to lose weight?…Seems she was comfortable in letting herself go when she HAD the husband, and tried to hide that fact by dressing up and shopping and spending money acting more like THAT’S all that mattered…LABELS and PERCEPTONS of high class. It didn’t seem like any of that mattered to her ex-husband really. But she always seemed to want to make everything into a big unnecessary production. All she seemed to be focused on was OVER SPENDING. She just really came off as very self-centered to me and seemed to have the nature of belittling her staff. I suppose her ex-husband got TIRED of footing the LARGE bill(waste of money…remember her gala that FLOPPED due to her POOR organization and know it all attitude) and dealing with her new found self-absorbed personality despite her lack of maintaining herself(even though they have/had a home gym) AND her house considering she really DOES NOT/DID NOT HAVE A REGULAR GIG.
