Yesterday I posted pictures of Fantasia Barrino looking a lil thicker than normal and speculated that she may have a bun in the oven…

When asked about her recent weight gain, Tasia’s manager stated:
Fantasia is 100% not pregnant. The only thing she’s pregnant with is prosperity.
In fact, she’s just signed on to play the lead in Mahalia and has been told to gain 30 to 45 pounds for the role.
Tasia’s signed on to portray New Orleans-born gospel queen Mahalia Jackson in a big screen biopic. Mahalia was often referred to as the “The Queen of Gospel” and was one of the most influential gospel singers in the world and Fantasia’s a perfect choice to fill her shoes.
The project, and Barrino’s casting, was announced late yesterday (Feb. 8th).
The new role comes at a perfect time, considering all the negativity associated with Fantasia and her married boyfriend, Antwuan Cook.
Her association with Cook sparked a bitter battle between her and his ex-wife Paula. Barrino tried to escape the drama with a suicide attempt and luckily for us, she failed.
The 26-year-old singer did, however win the court battle when a judge ruled that Cook had been separated from his wife prior to stepping out with Barrino…. and the rest is history.
Hopefully all that drama is behind her and this new role will bring Fantasia some much needed positive energy.
