Meet Sandra Alford, 46 of Lilburn, Georgia. Alford was arrested Friday for false imprisonment and cruelty to children for using handcuffs to restrain her 15-year-old son after either she or family friend Larry Powell (pictured below) called Lilburn police to report an “unruly juvenile.”
Police arrived and were told that the two were attempting to perform an “exorcism” on the young boy. An investigation revealed that the teen had been held against his will with handcuffs and was denied food and water for periods of 12 hours at a time over a three-day period as the two attempted to evict the evil spirit that had taken over his body. The teen was taken to Gwinnett Medical Center where he was treated for minor injuries and dehydration and later released.
The officer who applied for the arrest warrants noted that Alfred may suffer from schizophrenia and delusions. She and Powell both remain in jail awaiting a June 26th hearing. The case is now under investigation by the Gwinnett County District Attorney’s Office and the Department of Family and Children’s Services.
All I wanna know is…how did investigators know they were lying about the exorcism? Who’s to say that bad “A”zz kid wasn’t possessed? *sigh* Now there’s one more teen aged devil walking amongst us. Lord save us all…

June 21, 2009 @ 3:29 pmI just couldn’t let this go without a comment . . . you’ve got to be kidding me! Possessed? He was probably fed up with their mental instability and didn’t have a way out . . . It’s overzealous and mentally unstable “church folk” who use the Bible as a crutch for lack of accountability or responsibility. Now, who exactly gave them the authority to “cast out devils”? Oh that’s right Jesus did…and how do we know that they have been “delivered” which would give them the right to deliver someone else (supposedly)? WE DON”T KNOW! And now this young teenager has been mentally scarred by religion which was probably a long process of being under their misguidance and FALSE sense of reality. It’s a sad world that we live in when we can justify imprisonment, starvation, and “casting out devils” as a reliable source for the “Lord to save us all”…We need to save ourselves and start taking personal responsibility for trying to normalize unhealthy and unstable behavior. MENTAL ILLNESS is really the “devil” and once we attack that in our community by seeking professional help, making churches accountable for their lack of help, and making those who are affected in our families seek therapy and holistic healing then yes, we will have more bad a’zz teenagers walking around. Drugs, multiple unwedlock children, alcohol, STDs, etc. are not the problem – they are just symptoms. Let’s heal the disease of mental illness and unbalance.
