They Said It Wouldn’t Last ~ Usher Files for Divorce
I dropped a hint on Twitter yesterday that quite a few people took note of. In case you missed it:
Somebody just told me some tomfoolery is going on at Fulton County Courthouse. Those papers shoulda been stamped & filed by now. Friday, June 12th 4:54pm
Well, a source informed me a few weeks ago that Usher’s divorce papers were in the works and swore me to secrecy. The same source called me yesterday confused as to why the papers hadn’t been released and expressed concern as to how someone inside Fulton County could block public documents from being revealed. As you know, court documents are open record, so today they were finally posted via Fulton County’s website, with a hearing scheduled for July 15, 2009:
The R&B Superstar has caught flack from the very beginning for his decision to marry Tameka Foster-Raymond and became quite defensive time and time again about his relationship:
“People are so attracted to drama. That’s easier to take than a story of righteousness,” Usher said at the time. “I decided to marry this woman, then I decide to be a father to my child,” he said. “… It’s not like I got caught with a gram of coke in my car or speeding or was caught for murder, so why would I be ridiculed, that’s why I don’t understand – that’s the part that is mind boggling. Why would I be ridiculed for that, even a year later.” (Source)
Rumors of a split began almost immediately after Tameka Foster-Raymond was almost killed during a botched plastic surgery procedure in Brazil. When word hit the streets that Usher’s wife had snuck away to get a lil nip/tuck without his knowledge, most assumed Tameka had hit rock bottom by attempting to alter her appearance in order to keep her man. Although Usher ran to her side, he seemed to have had enough of all the drama and was soon spotted everywhere flirting with other women and showing off his ringless ring finger. It also didn’t help matters when Usher was spotted playing ‘weekend daddy’ with his young son in Malibu while Tameka stayed home in Atlanta.
The couple has two young sons together, 1 1/2-year-old Usher Raymond V and 6-month-old Naviyd Ely Raymond and Tameka has three children from her previous marriage to Ryan Glover.
Divorce is hard. Life is hard. Let’s just say a lil prayer for all the children involved.

She tried to play games to get him with lies and tricks…I hope it is true and they O.V.E.R now she lookin’ foolish. Let’s see who she catches next and pop out their kids.

June 14, 2009 @ 12:41 pmWell, I had heard, as I’m sure many of you had heard that this whole thing was a sham set up to achieve just what it did. Usher, whom I love as an artist, has always had some other ventures happening in his life, some things that could be career damaging.
Reference the latest Kelis and Nas stories.
I mean, he got two beautiful kids out of the deal and she got set up with da dough. I know there was some kind of love exchange there because of the creation of the children.
Now Usher, you truly do have it all now.

June 14, 2009 @ 1:07 pmI disagree @Dana there is nothing **** or cute when it comes to a broken home for children.He may have money and yes he is Usher, but what these kids may go through can cause some serious emotional damages.He didn’t want her and he should not have been with her, but that’s life in the spot light I guess. When did getting a little child support start being better then a child having both parents active in the same home without acting and playing house? Wow times have changed..

June 15, 2009 @ 10:06 ami truely feel ssssoooo sorry for the children involved having both parents active in their life will be very important not to say nthat usher will become a deadbeat now which i hope is ssoo not going to happen but, i knew this sh4t of a marriage would not last i just which he hadnt commited career sucide marrying this b^tch at least then he would probly on have 1 kid and only have to pay that c support for one instead of two and not have to deal with alimony and the issue of that gold digger having his name
