Diddy Releases Statement Regarding Huge Billboards + “I Am King” Mini Movie
Sean “Diddy” Combs unveiled his big “A”zzz “I Am King” billboard in New York City’s Times Square last week. The ad features a tuxedo clad Diddy standing next to the words ”I Am King.” Although, some have interpreted the ad as a statement of arrogance, Diddy says the phrase is not only about him…but for every man:
“I am really proud of the new billboard and of the message that it conveys to everyone who gets to see it,” Diddy said in a statement. “I Am King is not just about me, but every man. We are all descendants of kings. And if all men believe in that, we can accomplish anything. This image pays tribute to that belief, that ideal.”
The billboards will also appear in Los Angeles (view Sunset Blvd Ad) and Miami.
Check out Diddy’s ”I Am King” mini-movie below:
“I am debuting my new movie “I Am King” for my new fragrance “I Am King” which is available exclusively at Macy’s. This fragrance is dedicated to Barack Obama, Muhammad Ali, Martin Luther King and all you men out there who take care of your families and respect and treat yourself like the Kings that we are all. I would like to also announce that this is my audition tape for the next James Bond. There is a black president and it’s time for there to be a black Bond. God Bless.” ~ Sean Combs
I Am King will makes it’s debut exclusively Macy’s department stores in December 2008 and will hit other stores in February 2009.

December 1, 2008 @ 9:43 amthe reason why some people are making a big deal about the billboard is not because of him in a tux, but really because BBWEG (bad boy worldwide) HQ is a few blocks from the spot of the billboard, infact the photo looks like it was taken from his offices because when you walk out of the building, its the first thing you see when you turn to your left looking down Broadway.
honestly, dude is doing what others arent doing – its either going to be Diddy the trendsetter or Plaxico Burress the johnny boy sambo and the AWFUL security who allowed him to walk in LQ (already a cursed spot after somebody from Ja Rule’s clique was killed outside the spot) but probably didnt let regular joes in there.

December 1, 2008 @ 12:20 pmWhat exactly has Puffy done recently entertainment wise that’s been mega successful besides some “reality tv”?

January 8, 2009 @ 2:37 pmHelen Reddy made statement with “I Am Woman”, James Brown “Man’s World” and “Black and I’m Proud,” and now Diddy says “I am King”. I’ve always thought of myself as a King, but I couldnt afford to promote it as Diddy can so RIGHT ON ! And those who dont like Diddy are those who professed to be kings arnd were not and hate that Diddy can project it to the world.

January 9, 2009 @ 2:59 pmThat’s a wise comparison Mr. Allen. I love Diddy…always have and always will. There’s nothing sexier than a confident man and he dispays it very well. However, confidence magnified is often confused for arrogance which is the problem that Diddy faces today. I’m glad a Black man is able to project high self-esteem whether it be either or…just as I’m glad we finally have our first Black president. Diddy’s “I am King” ads personify a first step towards our men being seen in a positive light and I love him for it even if some don’t.
