The Atlanta Falcon’s lost (yet again) to the New Orleans Saints last night (34-14) and are now 3-10. During player introductions, DeAngelo Hall displayed a Michael Vick while running to the field. He then took the poster to the sideline and taped it to the back of the bench, facing the crowd. A member of the Falcon’s public relations staff removed the poster after the first quarter.
Hall also wrote “MV7″ (for Michael Vick #7) in his eye black.
“We did that because we wanted to let him know that we’re still thinking about him,” Hall said. “That was my personal thing. I wanted to let him know he’s not forgotten. We kind of, I don’t want to say as a franchise, don’t want to acknowledge the situation, but it’s kind of the way you feel. All the pictures are gone. No more jerseys. No more nothing. We need to let him know we still care about him.” (Source)
Falcons player, Roddy White showed his support by displaying a home-made “Free Mike Vick” t-shirt worn under his jersey. There were also several player’s in attendance sporting their Michael Vick Jerseys. We still love you Mike! Keep your head up!!!
Breaking News - Former Atlanta Falcon Michael Vick has been offically sentenced to 23 months in jail for his role in a dog fighting operation.
The sentence, handed down by U.S. District Court Judge Henry E. Hudson, ended an eight-month legal odyssey for Vick that saw him go from NFL star and the face of the Atlanta Falcons franchise to a prison inmate. The sentence on federal felony charges means Vick, suspended indefinitely by the NFL, won’t play again until at least 2010. He still faces the league suspension. He has also been indicted in Virginia on state dogfighting charges and faces lawsuits from several banks. The Falcons are awaiting an arbitration ruling in an attempt to recoup $20 million in bonus money paid to Vick. (Source-AJC)
I’m kind of relieved because I thought it would be a lot more. Let’s keep Mike in our prayers….he’s gonna need it.
Keri Hilson celebrated her 25th birthday Saturday night at the View in the “A”. Polow da Don and Timbaland hosted the event. In case you were wondering what the hell is going on with the gear in this pic, the theme of the party was “Flashback” Atlanta circa 1990.

Don’t sleep. Atlanta is representing HARD in this year’s Grammy nominations. Included in the list are several Atlanta Transplants as well as some home grown A-T-L-iens. I am so proud of our city! We have the music game on LOCK right now…
“Toomp killed this $ish….”~ Kanye West in ”Big Brother”
Kanye West is leading the pack with eight nominations this year. While considering his nomination, you can’t forget the contribution of A-Town native (and my favorite “play play” baby daddy) DJ Toomp, who produced several of my favorite tracks from that album (Big Brother, Can’t Tell Me Nothing, Good Life)! Toomp keep “killin ‘em” !
Cee-Lo (of Gnarles Barkley) Darius “the Dream” Nash
We also have former Goodie Mob-er Cee-Lo in the nomination as part of the group Gnarles Barkley for a short film video titled “Gone Daddy Gone” and Terius “the Dream” Nash just earned his first Grammy nomination — for “Umbrella” — a week before his first CD, “Love Hate,” hits stores.
Another ATL favorite, T.I. is also up for three awards including best album and Atlanta transplants Ne-Yo and T-Pain also have a good representation in this year’s noms.
Leading local contenders with five nominations were Ne-Yo (record of of the year for penning Beyoncé’s “Irreplaceable”) and T-Pain. T-Pain’s nominations included two in one category — best rap/sung collaboration. The College Park resident born Faheem Najm currently appears on four singles on Billboard’s Top 10 pop listing, so the Thursday morning announcement from L.A. “was just icing.” (Source)

Atlanta’s Hip Hop community reeling over the unexpected death of UGK’s Pimp C. Rashan Ali of Atlanta radio station Hot 107.9’s “The A-Team” spoke this morning about her efforts to honor UGK at their annual Dirty Awards. DJ. Drama gave UGK credit for paving the way for southern artists and while Andre 3000’s rep said he had no comment, Big Boi issued the following comment:
First and foremost my prayers go out to Pimp C’s family and Bun B. He was a dear friend and colleague, one of the most honorable men in the game. He will definitely be missed, but his legacy will live on through the music of UGK and Bun B. (Source)
UGK will not be the same without the voice of Pimp C.

Pimp C of UGK (aka Chad Butler) was found dead in an L.A. hotel earlier today. There were no signs of foul play and no evidence of drug use. All signs point to natural causes but he was only 33 years old.
To a mainstream audience, Pimp C was best known for UGK’s cameo on the Jay-Z hit “Big Pimpin’,” and for “Free Pimp C” T-shirts and shout-outs, ubiquitous in rap several years ago while he was jailed on gun charges. On Tuesday, his MySpace page had been changed to read: “C the Pimp is FREE at last.” (Source)
