ON BLAST! Chris Brown Ditches Paid Gay Pride Appearance Because Gay Men Attended + Brown Responds…

NEWSFLASH!! Chris Brown is not here for the ‘Gay boys’!

I need to preface this entire post to say that Labor Day Weekend in Atlanta is traditionally jam packed with events and for 10 years now, Ludacris‘ LudaDay festivities have coincided with Atlanta Black Gay Pride events and while the crowds who attend may be different, for celebrities… they’re all one and the same.

What I mean by that is that all money is green and celebrities in town during Labor Day fully understand that both LudaDay and Black Gay Pride events draw thousands of fans regardless of their sexual orientation. Promoters for all events during Labor Day weekend pay a premium price to get celebs in attendance, so it’s usually a win/win for everyone.

That being said, Chris Brown took money to appear at a Gay Pride event but apparently decided that it was ‘too Gay’ for him to attend.

Details below…

Saturday evening, Brown was a ‘no-show’ for a paid appearance at The Georgia Freight Depot.

The event was an ‘all-girls’ party sponsored by Traxx Girls and was billed as ‘the biggest girl party in the country’ with over 4,000 women in attendance.

Brown, who was also in Atlanta for his ?One Hell of A Nite Tour? and Ludacris’ ‘LudaDay’ celebrity basketball game, had been prominently featured on Traxx Girls flyers promoting the event, but when the time came for the celeb to fulfill his contractual obligations, he reportedly bailed out, along with the fee he was paid by Traxx Girls as a retainer!

If you follow me on Twitter and/or Periscope you may have the tea about Chris Brown’s ‘no show’ being spilled during my live feed yesterday as Monica & Kelly Price were being honored at Piedmont Park (click HERE if you missed it, but it expires later today).

During the broadcast, Lisa Cunningham told me how pissed off she was about Brown’s no-show and that ‘the world’ needed to know how he really felt about his LGBT fans. She also gave Fetty Wap props for showing up as a last minute replacement after Brown backed out.

Brown’s reasoning for his no-show was that he agreed to perform for ALL WOMEN but he found out that there were a few gay men in the crowd, so on the night of the pack event he flat out refused to enter the building and left the party promoter to face the angry crowd.

Melissa Scott, founder of Traxx Girls, spoke with The Georgia Voice about the incident and says she?s ?baffled? by the entire turn of events.

I think it?s unfortunate for mainstream artists to take people?s money with the complete prior knowledge of knowing what the event is and being very clear about what the event is about. I?m completely baffled.

You know it?s gay pride. You knew you agreed when you sent the contract in and took the money.

For the record, Brown wasn’t scheduled to perform at the event but had agreed to an appearance to introduce R&B singer Teyana Taylor prior to her set. Taylor is currently on the road with Brown as one of his opening acts on the ?One Hell of A Nite Tour.?

As stated earlier, popular rapper Fetty Wrap, was secured as a last minute replacement for Brown.

?We called Fetty Wap who is the hottest artist in the country right now and he was five minutes away (from the venue) and asked him if he could come,? says Scott.

“He said ‘hell yeah!’ I said ‘it?s a gay party. It?s tons of people here’. He said he didn?t care and was on his way.?

This isn?t the first time Brown has displayed homophobic tendencies. If you recall, Brown got into a heated Twitter exchange back in 2010 with former B2K singer Raz B (click HERE if you missed that), which he later apologized for after tweeting (and deleting) about Raz-B’s sexual orientation.

Whatever the case, Brown’s lezz-bunn fans are a bit upset that he ditched his paid appearance and his gay male fans are insulted that he says their attendance was the reason for his no-show.
