The Real Housewives of Atlanta aired it’s 12th episode, appropriately titled ‘Sour Grapes/Sour Peaches,’ last night and we were introduced a few new ‘friends’ of the show (January 19, 2014) .
It seems that retired NFL-er Chuck Smith and his wife Mynique (pronounced MO-nique) have faded to black after dissing two cast members.

The Smith’s have been replaced by singer Christopher Williams (remember him from New Jack City?) and his shiny wife Natalie, as they appear as friends of Cynthia’s from NYC.
Bravo synopsis:
After their blowup at Cynthia’s trunk show, NeNe visits Porsha in her new home to begin working on their friendship. Meanwhile, Kandi finds the perfect venue for her musical, forcing Todd to make a decision about his potential new job. As the ladies enjoy a day trip to a local wine vineyard, things quickly turn from sweet to sour grapes.

Cynthia and Peter celebrate three years of marriage and where better to have date night than at Bar One, Peter?s nightclub? But instead of the usual crew, the cute couple meets up with their friends Natalie and Christopher Williams, whom Cynthia has known years. It seems Cynthia wants Natalie to join their tightknit group, but Natalie (like Mynique) may have a connection which prevents her from fitting in!
Natalie reveals that she knows Todd, Kandi?s fianc?e, from years ago in NYC when he was dating a friend of hers. She described the situation as Todd having been an ‘opportunist’ and her husband backs up her story by saying Todd had gained something of a reputation back in the day for ‘using’ women.
Cynthia and Peter both seem concerned about the story but they don’t allow the revelation to ruin their night. Peter has a surprise planned for Cynthia… it seems he invited Natalie and Christopher along for their anniversary because he wanted to make it special. Williams, an old school r&b singer wrote a special ballad for the couple and Peter surprises Cynthia with a candlelit dinner and serenade from Christopher.
Kenya gets them all together to reveal some important news about her plans to conceive a child artificially. While Moore hasn?t actually decided who her baby daddy will be (I assume it would be kind of hard to choose her imaginary African prince as a sperm donor), but she?s already made an appointment to go through the process of in-vitro fertilization.
Next season, I guess we’ll see Kenya raising her imaginary child… moving on.
The couple conduct a site visit for a venue, but Kandi merely wants Todd?s opinion on the space. At one point, Todd takes a call for work that made Kandi a bit upset, she didn?t like his ?little job? interfering with their site visit. But suddenly Todd is no longer interested in the job he took on last week, and he asks Kandi if she still has room for him on her team.
Marlo, Lexi, Kenya, Phaedra, Nene, Cynthia, Kandi, and Porsha and Mallorie all take a tour of a winery and are joined later by Natalie.
The first sign of distress comes when Kandi is asked about her wedding date.? It seems she was once interested in the winery being a venue for her upcoming marriage.
Kandi reveals a change of plans since she and Todd have talked about eloping to avoid all of the “mama joyce’ drama.? Some of the women agree that would be best, including Natalie who said reveals that she and her husband, Christopher had eloped.
That’s when Kenya interrupts stating that she heard Natalie and Christopher were never actually “married”. ? Kenya says Natalie is only Christopher?s “common law” wife. Which legal eagle Phaedra says Georgia state refuses to recognize anymore.
It seems Kenya was “on tour” with Christopher Williams back in the day (doing what? Tour groupie?) and she reveals that Williams told her back then that he was ‘common law married’ and not ‘married’.
*sigh* Here’s the thing… (and correct me if I’m wrong) but married is married right? If a man tells you he’s ‘common law married,’ that would still mean that he has a “common law wife” right? ie. He’s NOT SINGLE.
It’s been rumored that Kenya once sued a married man for ending their relationship (click HERE if you missed that), so it’s no a surprise that she lacks respect for marriage and marital unions but after seeing her Dad last week, we all know Kenya’s not right in the head.
Kandi listens and seems interested in knowing what Natalie had to say about Todd being an opportunist and when Cynthia jumps in to help her friend, Kandi reveals she?s never said anything about the things she’s heard about Peter, so ?let the drama end here?… but how can the drama end when Cynthia and Peter have already been having issues?
Next week, we’ll see Cynthia asking Peter about Kandi’s statement. Stay tuned…
