As the Falcons were beating the breaks off of Tampa Bay in the Georgia Dome, Peter Thomas and Deb Antey were a few miles away hosting an awards show.

Peter Thomas Entertainment Group (PTEG), in conjunction with UPTOWN Magazine and Music Executive Debra Antney, presented the first 2014 How Can I Be Down? Salute to Excellence Awards honoring Hip Hop pioneers.

Guests and VIPs gathered at the Intercontinental Buckhead to celebrate this year?s honorees: David Banner, Shanti Das, Jermaine Dupri, Ryan Glover, Clifford ?T.I.? Harris, and Greg Street. (Das and Glover not in attendance.)

Other attendees include: Real ‘Housewives’ of Atlanta’s Kenya Moore, Claudia Jordan, Demetria McKinney, Cynthia Bailey, Kandi Burruss and Todd Tucker; Derek J (Fashion Queens), Benzino (LHHATL) and more.

Peter also surprised Kandi with an award for her contributions to American music during the black-tie event.
