Marlo Hampton, the highly anticipated recurring background character on The Real Housewives of Atlanta, recently did a lil good in the hood for the Thanksgiving holiday (November 26 2013).
Hampton, who has been extremely open about her hard knocks childhood and previous criminal activities, took a moment to give back during her 3rd annual ‘Simply Giving’ campaign held at Public Supermarket in Atlantic Station in Atlanta.
Marlo threw on a few of her best designer duds and distributed Thanksgiving dinners to 30 families in need and promptly sent out press release filled with pictures as proof.

According to Hampton’s publicist, the families were extremely grateful, and have a few even sent out ‘thank you’ emails:

This is the 3rd year Hampton has gave back in such a generous way.
?Simply Giving? was created because Hampton saw how many families didn?t have the means to have a great Thanksgiving dinner and she wanted to change that. This is just one of the many projects that Hampton feels will aid her community during these tough economic times.
As the founder of the ?Glam it Up? project she also mentors and sponsors many events for foster care children in Atlanta. ?It?s about giving back and making the holidays happy for EVERYONE, one family at a time!?
Born in Florida, Hampton was a child of the foster care system. She experienced a challenging childhood with a drug addicted and abusive mother, which landed Marlo in the hands of state foster care.
In ?the system? Marlo continued to be mistreated. She was placed in multiple homes before finally being cared for by a loving family in her late teens. Those experiences sparked her interest in working with young girls facing similar struggles.
Thus, she formed ?Glam It Up!? a program dedicated to encouraging young girls 13-17 in the foster care system to excel beyond their experience to success. Hampton uses her celebrity to bring awareness to issues affecting young women such as neglect, abuse and abandonment
