One thing’s for sure, no one is questioning the status of Kandi’s relationship! The two held hands and look quite cozy as they took in the highly anticipated new flick.

Django Unchained is a western written and directed by Quentin Tarantino and stars Jamie Foxx, Christoph Waltz, Leonardo DiCaprio, Kerry Washington and Samuel L. Jackson. Others spotted at the pre-screening included Love & Hip Hop Atlanta‘s Stevie J & Joseline Hernandez, Braxton sisters Trina & Towanda, Funky Dineva, Fonzworth Bentley, radio personalities Egypt Sherrod, Ryan Cameron & Art Terrell and More. Jamie Foxx, is completely riveting as Django and his presence is undeniable in every scene. I thought Keri Washington’s role would be a bit bigger. But she did her thing.

Leonardo DiCaprio is an actor’s actor, so you already know his performance was superb and Samuel L. Jackson totally stole the show as the “House Negro”!

Samuel L Jackson stole the movie. His slave character antics will have you on the edge of your seat screaming and laughing at him #DjangoATL ? DRAMA DUPREE (@dramadupree) December 19, 2012

The thing about #DJangoUnchained is that you’ll probably end up hating Samuel L. Jackson more than the racist white folks! Lmao! #DJangoATL

The film definitely kept the audience intrigued with it’s in depth storyline.

Granted, there are some parts that could have been left on the cutting room floor (for length’s sake), however the acting is superb and you’ll find yourself rooting for Django throughout the film.

Pros:? While the plot is based during slavery, the film doesn’t hold the weight of say… Alex Haley’s “Roots”.

There are things to be learned about the time period, i.e. I now find myself wanting to read up on ‘Mandingo fighting’ and ‘hot boxes’.

There are also some laughable moments that are placed in unconventional scenarios… ie the “klansmen” who complain that the eye-holes in their sheets don’t match and they ‘can’t see sh*t” and the Rick Ross song that pops on the soundtrack as the slaves are being transported.

I feel like Tarantino threw in those moments to remind us that this was a fictional tale.

Cons: Django Unchained is 2hours and 45 minutes!!? That’s a long time to sit without a bathroom break! Trust me when I tell you that you WILL NOT want to get up to go pee because you won’t want to miss a thing!

I’ll give ‘Django Unchained’ TWO THUMBS up, and I’ll probably pay my money to see it again on Christmas Day.
