Look But Don’t Touch! Oprah’s Bodyguards Arrested in India… [VIDEO + PHOTOS]

While we Americans are well aware that Oprah Winfrey is the “Queen” and shall not be approached, clearly reporters in India didn’t get the memo.

The OWN network chief is in India shooting footage for, Oprah’s Next Chapter,?and her presence has cause quite a stir amongst the locals.

It’s O’s first visit to the subcontinent and journalists are fighting (literally!) to get the media maven’s undivided attention.

As she and her OWN crew were filming the Hindu pilgrimage town of Mathura, about 90 miles south of Delhi, overzealous reporters tried to get close to her and Miss “O”‘s bodyguards sprung into action, causing a scuffle amongst the crowed in an attempt to keep the journalists at bay.

Indian authorities briefly detained Oprah’s bodyguards after the melee and they were ultimately released after writing an apology letter.

Oprah was apparently unfazed by the incident, and continued on her visit.? She was spotted sightseeing at the Taj Mahal last Thursday (Jan. 19th) and paid a visit to the Jaipur Literature Festival Friday (Jan. 20th).

Winfrey refers to India as “the greatest show on Earth” in an interview with CNN sister network CNN-IBN:

“What I’ve learned is, you can’t see India in a week,” Winfrey told the network in an interview airing Sunday.

“You can’t see India in two weeks … India is so complex, I would have to say it’s the greatest show on Earth. I’ve never seen anything like it. India, I’ll be back again and again.”
