I guess it’s official. Beyonce is back and she’s brought the controversy with her… just in time for Black History Month!
Bey’s got the world in a rage this week over a “blackface” photo shoot taken for the 90th-birthday issue of L’Officiel, a French fashion magazine.
The mag features Bey in an African-themed photo shoot, which is meant to be a tribute to musician-activist Fela Kuti.
Beyonce volunteered to have her skin darkened for the shoot, and the magazine called it a return to the singer?s African roots.
Her newly darkened skintone will only be displayed inside the magazine and not on the cover.
However… the cover of the mag is getting buzz as well, with some stating that Bey is looking unusually pale…
The cover featuring Beyonce seemed to have swung the other way. Beyonce is almost unrecognizable to me, as her skin color has once again been manipulated by magazine editors so as not to offend their mostly white female audience. ~ BrownSista
I’m gonna have to disagree with BrownSista on the cover manipulation. Beyonce was looking mighty Caucasian-ish during the Grammy’s [PHOTOS] and I even commented on her transition to the fairer race in those photos taken during Kelly Rowland’s 30th birthday celebration.

Maybe it’s her new lighter hair color… or maybe it’s the lighting. All I know is… that Blackface stunt proves Beyonce’ is officially on some other sh*t.
