There’s a story circulating about a few Walmart workers who are reportedly in deep doo-doo after taking a stand against what they felt was a racist cake request.
The Walmart location?in McDonough, Georgia (about 30 miles southeast of Atlanta), is now under fire after it’s employees ALLEGEDLY?refused to make a Blue Lives Matter cake last Friday for an officer’s retirement party… but after digging deeper, it wasn’t a ‘Blue Lives Matter’ request, in fact it’s been suggested that it was actually a request for a confederate flag cake that was an issue!
There are reports that cake was subsequently made by another store, but now family and friends of the retired officer has hit Facebook campaigning?for a Walmart boycott.

So it’s being reported online that at least three Walmart workers in McDonough, Georgia refused to decorate a ?thin blue line? cake for a police officer?s retirement party because they said it was racist but the validity of the tale is in question because there were some ommissions from the online story.
The ‘Blue Lives Matter’ cake story was conveniently started by ?Taylor Wilkies, who has been reported as being a police officer from Georgia.
Wilkes shared a Facebook post on September 22, 2016 which read in part:?‘My buddy’s sister went to Walmart in McDonough, GA to have a cake made for their father’s retirement party,’
The story was?picked up by FoxNews correspondent Todd Starns, who claims?on his blawg that he spoke to the unidentified woman involved in the incident and her father, who is a retiring police officer. ?Starns post actually tells a bit more of the story…
?”The police officer?s daughter went to the Walmart on Willow Drive on Sept. 22 to order a flag for her father?s retirement party. He was leaving the force after 25-years on the job.
She showed the bakers a photograph of the police officer?s flag – the black and white version of Old Glory with a blue line.
?One of the bakers told me the design could be perceived as racist and nobody feels comfortable decorating the cake,? the police officer?s daughter told me.
But?wait… I received a message last night that stated?that the woman may have?actually requested?a confederate cake flag and that the McDonough location gets those types of requests often. ?NOW it all makes sense!
As an alternative, she suggested a chocolate-frosted cake with a horizontal, frosted blue line.
But that design was also rejected by Walmart?s cake decorator.
?She said, ?I don?t feel comfortable doing this,?? the cop?s daughter told me. ?I asked her, ?Is there something wrong with cops???
After being rejected for a third time, the 21-year-old told the bakers, ?I?ll find another bakery, thank you.?
So basically, the bakery workers could have felt ‘some kinda way’ after being asked to make a confederate cake (rightfully so) and most likely decided not to do anything for the chick.
In an ‘update’ to the story,?Taylor Wilkes posted the following to Facebook, stating that the friend wishes to remain anonymous, while also calling for a boycott of Walmart:

Now I don’t know about you, but until this invisible person comes forward I’m not putting too much stock in this story. ?There are way too many variables… it originated from a police officer, and the confederate flag request being suspiciously omitted from the original tale.
IF… and I use that term loosely, this story has any validity, I can’t say I blame the Walmart workers for taking a stand. ?Sure ‘Blue Lives Matter,’ that’s a given… but we’re focused on the senseless killings of Black one’s right now.
And I don’t care what anyone says… the confederate flag is a symbol for slavery. ?There’s a reason why some people love the symbol of the confederacy and it’s certainly not for honoring great things about Georgia’s ‘history’.
But I digress…
