If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a thousand times… Killer Mike is next up on the list of civil rights leaders.

He has spoken out on many topics in the past and has been quite active in the presidential campaign of Democratic hopeful Bernie Sanders.

While police brutality is being well-documented and viewed worldwide thanks to social media and major news coverage, Killer Mike is once again eloquently speaking out about the situation and in light of the many protests, Mike reminds everyone that the best way to get anyone’s attention is through their pockets.

Mike makes a slew of important points about protesting in Atlanta, stating “If you stop spending money in Atlanta… NATIONALLY!”

If you wake up the political establishment in Atlanta… you will wake them up NATIONALLY.

If all the Black athletes in Atlanta don’t show up to play a game… that’s a PROBLEM for that stadium that’s being built.

Mike goes on to say that if you want to make a change, you should first begin to support your own communities and Black owned banks like Citizens Trust.

What are we prepared to do? Are you going to take $100 out of your account? You don’t have to take all of your money out.

We need 1 million people in Atlanta to take $100 out of their existing account and put $100 in a citizens trust account. Let $100 million dollars move into that.

Of that $100 million dollars promise $15 to $18,000 loans to businesses and small homes.

While change won’t occur overnight, if we make a few conscious choices about how and where we spend our money in our communities, there could be an economic impact that will spark change on a national level.

In his powerful interview, Mike offers the following suggestions on next steps:

You need to move to the bluff, you need to move to the Westside.

You need to invite new political candidates to run on your behalf.

You need to make sure that you have more police chiefs like George Turner and less like these DOGS that you have nationally that don’t care anything about you.

You need to make sure you have mayors that are accountable to you like you have the past 40 years. You need to make sure you have more Maynards, more Kasims, more Andys.

And if you don’t do that and the worse should happen… IT’S YOUR FAULT.
