Newsflash! Ne-Yo Got Married Last Weekend & His Kids Didn’t Attend… (PHOTOS)

It’s official, R&B singer Ne-Yo (Shaffer Smith) and instagram model Crystal Renay are officially man & wife!

The couple tied the knot in an intimate ceremony held in California this past Saturday (February 20, 2016), surrounded by family and friends.

There was also a bit of drama as Ne-Yo’s former fiance’/baby mama Monyetta Shaw ALLEGEDLY chose to keep his two kids away from the ceremony.

Details below…

Ne-Yo’s two kids (Madilyn Grace, 5, and son Mason Evan, 4) were M.I.A. during their famous dad’s nuptials, but apparently they had more important things to do than to watch their father get married.

The two cuties were in Atlanta while their dad married his new lady love, who happens to be nine months pregnant.

As you know, Ne-Yo’s relationship has been under scruitiny since it was revealed that the singer talked his former fiancee into getting a permanent birth control procedure after their 2nd child was born.

While Shaw has every right to feel as she does, she decided to offer an explanation to ‘the world’ about why the kids weren’t attending the wedding, stating:

Several comments followed, referring to Monyetta as ‘bitter’ and ‘petty’ for not allowing the kids to attend their famous dad’s wedding. Our friends over at Fameolous even hit up Monyetta via Instagram and she offered the following response:

Welp… I guess the wedding must go on with or without the kids (especially since Crystal is determined to jump the broom before her child is born) and while Ne-Yo married his new bride in Los Angeles without his children there, the 36 year old R&B star shared with PEOPLE how excited he is to build a life with his new wife.

The happy couple’s big day comes just days before they welcome their first child together.

“I’m gonna be honest: I’m nine months pregnant ? I’m nervous about falling on my face!” Renay told PEOPLE the day before the wedding.

Her soon-to-be husband is in agreement, adding: “I’m more concerned about her making it all that way down that aisle or if the water breaks or something.”

Ne-Yo further explained to the mag how important his wedding day was to him, stating:

“This is big for me. I’m not doing this again, so I’m happy that my family and friends are able to be there to share this moment with us,” says NE-YO.

“We’re human being, so we’re gonna bump heads on different things, but we’ve agreed that this is gonna be a marriage that lasts.”

Congrats to the happy couple!
