Life Lesson #1 – When all else fails, plan a trip to the Phillipines…

Cynthia, Porsha, Claudia, Demetria, Kandi and Phaedra embark on yet another girl’s trip. It’s the 2nd trip this season… the first being the drama filled Puerto Rico trip that lost Demetria McKinney her peach.

Things start off a bit rocky. Phaedra isn’t really feeling the group but the show must go on and she doesn’t hide her feelings too well as she prefers to sit in her car until time for check in.

Parks is also the bearer of bad news as she lets the ladies know that Nene won’t be taking the 18 hour journey due to her blood clotting issue.

Claudia is apparently the coordinator of the circus this go round and she dresses the part of ‘ring leader’ complete with an ill fitting hat.

Kenya takes a chance to briefly hump Kandi’s new husband Todd, as he drops Kandi off for their trip.

Porsha makes sure she’s dressed for ‘success’ as she seeks another international sponsor and Demetria manages to get a short flash on the screen as they prepare to check in for their long flight.?Moving on…

Life Lesson #2 – It pays to stay ‘grounded’…

As mentioned previously, Nene has decided to sit the girl’s trip out due to her blood clotting issue and while she’s ‘grounded’ she’s also getting paid.

Nene heads to NYC to prepare for her stint on Broadway as the wicked stepmother in Cinderella and she meets with the director to get some idea about the direction she should take with her character.

Nene is reminded that the story takes place in a certain period of time, so she’s advised not to ‘ad lib’ or use any of her colorful slogans.

At least the veteran ‘housewife’ is making good use of all her free time while her ‘friends’ are away.

Life Lesson #3 – Backstabbing is not a step towards peace keeping…

After almost 24 hours of continuous travel, the ladies finally arrive in the Philippines.

While it seems the goal is to increase the ‘peace,’ the ladies all fall into the same ‘ol pattern of splitting into groups.

Claudia, Cynthia, Kenya & Demetria all stay up late while the other ladies turn in. After the group watches the sunrise, they also decide to call it a night, but not before Claudia decides to emulate Porsha’s ‘THOT-Walk’… (but wait… I thought everyone was trying to ‘get along’… what’s up with the shade?)

Anywhoo… the goal of the trip is to increase the peace and ‘detox’ from the drama but it’s already off to a questionable start.

Good job, ring leader!

Life Lesson #4 – When all else fails create a ‘common’ bond… like divorce.

Ringleader Claudia invites Phaedra to lunch and they have their first real one on one.

It seems that Jordan’s goal is to get Phaedra to talk about her marital issues but Parks isn’t falling for it.

First, Claudia shares that she’s also gone through a tough break-up with short lived marriage that ended in divorce (cue violins) and then she decides to ask Phaedra when she realized there was a breaking point in her marriage.

Phaedra deflects and decides to discuss how supportive Nene and Porsha has been during her trying time. She also talks about how her kids are adjusting to life without their dad, and she gets emotional about the situation.

Claudia then inquires about Phaedra’s friendship with Kandi (messy) but on the flip side, she wants to be a ‘catalyst for change’ in getting the women to bond.

Yea right… whatever…

On the flip side, Kandi and Phaedra get together to share a massage and it seems that Kandi just can’t get Nene off of her mind.

Kandi takes the opportunity to remind her ‘friend’ how bad Nene treated her in the past and also advises her that if she can forgive Nene, Phaedra can certainly forgive Kenya (WTF?!?).

For the record, I totally disagree… but since a reconciliation between Parks & Moore has been what the producers have been aiming for all season, it’s gonna happen. Will it be genuine? Nope.

But I digress…

Life Lesson #5 – Divide and conquer…

The ladies are still traveling in separate groups but they manage to get together for a group dinner.

The dinner starts off lighthearted enough as ‘ringleader’ Claudia sits at the head of the table to play ‘peace maker’.

Porsha and Cynthia seem to be finally getting along again (even though that leash comment Bailey made in her confessional showed how she REALLY feels).

On the other hand, Claudia’s jealously rears it’s head ugly head as Porsha tries to share her opinions. Kenya even makes a snide comment during Porsha’s chatter, stating, “She’s looking for a moment like she always does.’

The cattiness is still alive and well and while it seems the ladies are on their best behavior there is still a ton of underlying animosity in the room.

Kenya tries to play intermediary between Phaedra and Cynthia but becomes the target as she’s reminded of all the dirt she’s done over the past few years.

The ladies will somewhat make ‘amends’ but it’s all for show. Don’t worry, things will be right back to normal being that they will be back at each other’s throats during the 3 part reunion show which airs in a few weeks.

I’ll post the tea on that later…

What did you think of this week’s episode of The Real Housewives of Atlanta?

Will the ladies ever be able to ‘detox’ the drama???
