#RHOA RECAP: The Real Housewives of Atlanta S7 Ep4 ‘Bury The Ratchet’ + Watch Full Video…

The Real Housewives of Atlanta aired the 4th episode of it’s explosive 7th season last night (November 30, 2014).

This week’s episode, entitled ‘Bury The Ratchet,’ solidified my ‘beauty vs. beasts’ theory as the ladies each met in ‘teams’ to discuss last week’s blowout between Cynthia Bailey & Porsha Williams.

We also got a new perspective on Todd Tucker’s involvement in Kandi Burruss’ business matters, via her ‘diva manager’ Don Juan, and we were also treated to more of the same ol’ Kenya Moore drama as the former beauty queen begged, pleaded and shed a few tears to get sympathy from RHOA viewers for Apollo Nida lying about ‘everything’.

[Sidebar: Despite what she said, Kandi’s eyebrow showed how she REALLY felt… 😆 ]

Read this week’s recap + watch full video for RHOA 0702 ‘Bury The Ratchet’ below…

Bravo synopsis:

Todd makes himself a little too comfortable at the Kandi Factory when he starts reprimanding the staff — forcing Kandi to choose sides between her husband and her team. Phaedra continues to deal with the aftermath of Apollo’s fateful decisions, while he downloads to Peter intimate relationship details from their past.

Just as Claudia is starting to adjust to life in Atlanta, she finds herself catching some unwarranted shade from a familiar coworker.

Now that Apollo has come clean, Kenya is optimistic about mending her relationships with the other women until NeNe breezes into town and suggests there may be a shocking twist to the Kenya/Apollo saga.

Here are my top 5 things revealed during this episode…

5. Beauties vs. Beasts…

As stated in previous posts, the ladies are bonding in two distinct groups and the ‘model’ chicks (Cynthia, Kenya, Claudia) will be labeled ‘beauties’ while the highly ambitious career women (Phaedra, Kandi, Nene), will be dubbed ‘beasts.’

This week, the teams are solidified as the ‘beauties’ go on a shopping spree while the ‘beasts’ enjoy a spa day.

Kenya wants Cynthia to bond with her friend Claudia and the ladies seem to get along quite nicely. ?They all meet at Garb boutique in Atlanta, where they rehash their experiences with ‘friend of the show’ Porsha Williams.

On the other side of town, Porsha shares her take on last week’s blowout between she and Cynthia Bailey with Nene, Phaedra and Kandi.

Nene just returned to town from her Vegas gig and gets caught up on all the drama. When Kandi discusses Apollo’s ‘apology’ to Kenya, Nene expresses that she doesn’t believe he was being honest.

Nene seems to feel as I do… that Apollo lied about lying and is merely doing it to hurt Phaedra…. and a ‘conspiracy theory’ is born.

4. Kandi’s ‘team’ feels somekindaway about her new hubby…

Kandi’s manager, Don Juan, isn’t too happy about her new husband having an input in her expanding business.

Todd sat in a meeting and expressed that her team isn’t completing every task and Don Juan confronts Kandi for allowing him to speak on their work.

Don is clearly focused on building Kandi’s brand and he doesn’t want any obstacles to her successes.

In a rare confessional, Don Juan throws mad shade at Todd, stating:

I definitely think we should take a look at Kandi Burress prior to Todd. ?We have stores all across the United States, a successful Bedroom Kandi line and a songwriting career that spans across 60 million records sold plus a grammy.

And Todd Tucker’s resume reads what? I’ll wait on it…

OUCH!!

Whatever the case, Don Juan has Kandi’s best interest at heart and so does her husband.

Todd & Don eventually have a meeting one on one where they hash things out and it seems they come to a mutual understanding about taking everyone ‘to the next level.’

[Sidebar: Mama Joyce must have been too busy to tape for this episode… ?but Don Juan filled in quite nicely.]

3. Apollo gets pre-jail advice from Peter…

Peter seems to be Apollo’s only grounding force these days as he prepares to head off for his 8 year vacation.

Apollo is unsure of his future and meets Peter at Bar One for a few drinks a bit of emotional support and admits that Phaedra used to ride hard for him. He even revealed that Phaedra used to come see him in the projects when he was still sleeping on an air mattress!

When Peter asks about his ‘apollo-gy’ to Kenya, Apollo admits that when Kenya brought up their MUTUAL texting during the reunion (i.e. textgate), he had no choice but to say what he said.

When she mentioned the whole text thing I didn’t know where it was going.

I was like man…. how am I going to get out of this… how am I going to get out of this. And how will I turn this around to look better for me?

Cause now you put me in a situation where I can’t explain it… you banged my head off. ?You tried to make my wife think that you and me had something going on.

Then guess what? Lets do it. You wanna turn it up, let’s turn it up.

So I did what I did. I said what I said and I ran to the bank with it. I cashed out!

Peter said he’s spoken to Kenya about it and she didn’t seem bitter, to which Apollo responds… “you think she’ll come see me [in prison]?”

*sigh*

Again… Kenya doesn’t deserve an apology from Phaedra. She played just as much of a part as Apollo did. ?PERIOD.

2. Claudia secures her spot & Porsha feels ‘somekindaway’ about her replacement…

Porsha Williams and Claudia Jordan work in different departments but at the same place and apparently they used to be kinda cool, and would actually chat it up in the hallway.

Now that Claudia has secured her peach tho, Porsha is acting a bit ‘bitchy’ towards her.

Claudia decides to have a sit down with ?Porsha and if it wasn’t clear before, it’s certainly clear now… Porsha is jealous as hell of her new replacement.

I mean… you’d feel somekindaway too if you were forced to ‘play nice’ with the person who snatched your income, so I can’t say that I don’t emphathize with her.

BUT… she still has a role to play and Claudia has been nothing but nice to her.

Her actions during their lunch solidifies my opinion that Porsha is too immature for RHOA.

Maybe she can earn her peach back after a few years of real life experience, who knows?

Whatever the case, that whole ‘do you like Tom Ford?’ act made Porsha appear bitter and it wasn’t a good look.

I’m almost starting to root for Claudia, I just hope she and Kenya hurry up and fall out.

Moving on…

1. Kandi apologizes to Kenya…

Kandi meets Kenya for a kickboxing session and she offers her an apology.

While I think it’s cool that Kandi can flip flop between the two ‘teams’ unscathed, I think that her ‘apology’ was just as fraudulent as Apollo’s.

Kandi has gotten really good at playing the middle and she’s also messy, messy, messy!

I love it. ? But never forget, ?Kandi sat with Kenya and actually READ the texts that Kenya and Apollo sent TO EACH OTHER. ?She witnessed first hand much of Kenya’s backstabbing and shady shenanigans but RHOA is her employer and they want ‘text gate’ to die… hence her apology.

It is what it is. ?They all have a ‘job’ to do and Kandi is just a pawn in the ‘reality show’ game.

On the flip side, Kenya’s ‘gone with the wind’ dramatics and crying in the bathroom was a bit much. ?All that whining as got to stop!

If nobody likes Kenya, why does she care? ?Just go away already! Oh wait. I almost forgot that this is a ‘reality show’ not real life.

Do you believe Apollo lied about lying? Does Kenya deserve an apology from EVERYONE (or ANYONE)??

What did you think of this week’s episode?
