Atlanta Exes aired it’s 7th episode earlier this week, and as their first season heads to a close, the ladies all turn up and turn out yet again.
With just one episode from the finale, the ladies seem to be in a fairly good place. Last we left them, they were all working together, laughing and loving.? But it wouldn’t be a ‘reality’ show without drama now would it?
This week, Tameka Raymond reveals to Sheree Buchanan that the word on the curb is that she’s been around the block more than a few times in Atlanta. Christina Johnson reveals a deep dark secret about how she survived an abusive relationship; Monyetta Shaw hosts a charity function honoring exceptional women and her ex-fiance/baby daddy Ne-yo shows up to offer support.

Tameka suggests the ladies all attend a self-defense class, but it seems not everyone is as into the self-defense moves as she is.
Christina?s memories of past abuse is triggered when the instructor demonstrates a choke hold and she opts out of the instruction.? As Christina tearfully watches the class, she shares with Monyetta how painful it is to watch.? And how she can’t stand the thought of anyone touching her neck because of her abusive experience.
For the record, Christina states that it wasn’t her celebrity ex-husband and she explains that the person is no longer a part of her life.
It’s another touching moment for Christina and she wins even more brownie points in my book for sharing her story with the world.? She seems to be the fan favorite so far and she seems to be the most honest and genuine of the group.
As the gossip mill turns, Tameka continues her beef with Sheree Buchanan.? This week, Sheree hears from her BFF Monica that Tameka has been spreading some nasty rumors, so Sheree and Monica set out to talk it out with Tameka in person.
Yet again… it’s another episode of he said/she said affecting the relationships.? All of these women are way past high school but it seems that some of them still maintain a high school mentality.? This week, Sheree calls in back up and has her friend Monica on hand when she confronts Tameka, sad thing is… Monica co-signs Tameka on the rumor mill, stating that she’s heard the same things!!
Welp… I guess Sheree can scratch Monica off of her Christmas card list this year.
Moving on.
Tameka has an full-blown Naomi Campbell moment as she spazzes on her assistant, Greg this week.? The argument was so weak though, that it seems way too ‘made for tv’ for my taste.
Whatever the case, it seems that Greg dropped the ball on Tameka’s 5k race and being that the event marks what would have been her son Kile?s 13th birthday, she’s cranky and filled with stress!
Poor lil Greg is taking the brunt of Tameka’s wrath and the situation turns very ugly very fast!? The scene starts with Tameka asking about T-shirts and ends with Tameka shouting and cursing at her assistant.? It’s definitely overkill… but that’s tv for ya.
Monyetta hosts a beautiful event to honor a few exceptional women in her circle.? Ne-yo attends and it seems that all of the ‘exes’ are a bit surprised to see him.? There’s an awkward moment when Torrei introduces herself to the superstar singer and he appears to nonchalantly brush her off.? Torrei tries again and repeats her statement about being happy to see him as he walks away mid sentence.? Just rude!
Anywhoo… speaking of rude, Tameka arrives and manages to insult Monyetta at her own event, referring to Ne-Yo as her “baby daddy? and ?financer.?
[Sidebar: Sure… she was joking but timing was in poor taste. *sigh*? But I digress… ]
Mo’s event turns out to be just as beautiful and elegant as she is and she even managed to honor Christina for her strength in overcoming domestic abuse.
War of words with Dionne Warwick…
Tameka invites the girls over to her new home, and they all manage to come together even with all the underlying animosity.
There are plenty of nice/nasty comments made and it seems that the ladies all feel that Tameka thinks she’s ‘better than’ all of them.? When pressed, Tameka won?t say that she thinks she?s “better”, and just admits that ‘I am what I am”… (what does that mean?)
While the ladies all attempt to make Tameka comprehend how her attitude is harmful to their friendships, she seems to have an IDGAF attitude about the situation.
Blaming past hurt, Tameka admits to the ladies that she doesn?t really trust women.
Christina (the peacemaker) sees that it’s time to go and she leads the girls out the door to avoid further conflict.
Outside, it seems that Sheree has had enough as she raises hell 10 feet from Tameka?s door about how she can’t stand Tameka with her ‘Dionne Warwick’ looking azzz.? Meanwhile,? Tameka sits alone in her kitchen looking totally unbothered as she nibbles on the leftover food she had for her guests.
