Jones posed for the mugshot above after he was arrested in Siera Blanca, Texas last Thursday for “allegedly” transporting large amounts of drugs on his boss’ tour bus.

According to the Hudspeth County Sheriff?s Department, Nelly’s tour bus was on Interstate 10 on Wednesday at 8:00 p.m. when it was stopped at a U.S. Border Patrol Checkpoint in Sierra Blanca, Texas. That?s when a police dog picked up on the scent of drugs. Authorities reportedly found a box with ten pounds of marijuana and .64 ounces of heroin inside.
While there were several other people on Nelly’s tour bus at the time, Jones took the fall for the huge stash as well as a loaded .45 caliber pistol that was also discovered inside of a large duffel bag.
But peep game… it’s widely believed that Jones merely took the fall for his boss so that he could save face, as evidenced by the fact that he’s pleaded “not guilty” and is fighting all the charges!
For the record, Nelly issued the following statement about bout the heroin, marijuana and a loaded .45-caliber pistol that officers turned up in the search:
It is my understanding a member of my staff made an unfortunate decision to bring unlawful materials onto our tour bus that resulted in his arrest this morning, October 11th.
Neither I nor anyone else on the tour bus was aware of his decision to bring these on board. Law enforcement officials in Sierra Blanca, Texas did not press charges against anyone other than that individual.
As referenced in Nelly’s statement, “officials in Sierra Blanca, Texas did not press charges against anyone other than that individual,” that means that Jones will fight the charges and being that there were at least 5 others on board the tour bus, the charges will likely be dismissed.
During his bond hearing, Jones pleaded “not guilty” to all charges and was released on bond early Saturday morning, just in time to make it back to work guarding Nelly’s body in Atlanta this past weekend.
