FaceBook Apologizes to the GAYS… [STATEMENT]

Facebook ruffled a ton of homosexual feathers last week when they declared pictures of same sex kisses offensive and removed the images.

Now the popular social network has issued a formal apology to the?creator of an event that protested their actions.

Details below:

The photo above was pulled by Facebook as violating their policy. It originally went up as part of a same-sex kiss organized to protest a homophobic pub in the U.K. and apparently the event page got yanked along with the photo.

A protest page was put up amidst the scandal called “Kissing is Cool” and it has accumulated over 40,000 participants in the few weeks since it’s creation.

The organizer of the virtual protest shared FaceBook’s apology via their event page today:

“The photo in question does not violate our Statement of Rights and Responsibilities and was removed in error. We apologize for the inconvenience.?

The event has been mostly a success. It has been found to be based on half truths as you can see on all the links posted. People respond to what they hear and see. Even though some of it turns out to be false.

The event was based on good intentions and remains so. No one should feel uncomfortable showing affection for someone they love. A kiss in friendship, in greeting, in departing and most importantly in love isn?t wrong. Be comfortable with who you are and who you love.

Thank you everyone for participating I would encourage you to keep the event going until the 27th. Post the pics for those who can?t.

I really didn’t see what the big deal was in the first place. Maybe I’ve just been desensitized to men on men kissing… *shrug*
