On last night’s episode of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, Sheree’ Whitfield hit the singles scene and went on a blind date.? Sheree’ who normally only dances for dollars, took a chance and met her date out for a night of two-stepping.
The lucky fellow, who she described as a “doctor,” sent a car for her and took her straight to SWATS (Southwest Atlanta for all you non-ATLiens). He even brought her store bought flowers!
The two seemed to have hit it off even though they were in the hood and Sheree’ even asked the guy out on a 2nd date.
Now for the good stuff!! While we were tweeting away last night during the show, it was revealed that Sheree’s “blind” date is not a “Doctor” after all. At least, not in the classic sense of the word.
Tiy-E Muhammed has a long sordid history in the “A” and it’s not pretty. Word on the street is that the “Doctor” (if you can call him that) was fired from his job as a professor at Clark Atlanta University back in 2005 after they discovered that he wasn’t really a “Doctor” after all…
Back then, Muhammed had long dreds and I heard that all the girls swooned over him.
According to my friend Ms. Mercedes, Muhammad taught a sex education class at CAU and was the coolest professor on campus.
Muhammad’s glowing personality couldn’t prevent him from being “outed” by the AJC thought. Especially after he chose to appear on a local reality show.
A blog post written by KARSH dated June 22nd, 2005, details how the “Doctor” eventually fessed up and admitted that he was merely a “life coach”…
The former Clark Atlanta University associate professor turned castaway on TBS? ?The Real Gilligan?s Island? has called himself a psychologist on his Web site and book jacket covers, yet he is not licensed to practice psychology in Georgia or anywhere else.
Tiy-E Muhammad is a ?professor? on the TBS reality show ?The Real Gilligan?s Island.? But Clark Atlanta University says it let him go. His credentials are as uncharted as a desert isle.
Kara Sinkule, a spokeswoman for the Georgia secretary of state?s office, said Muhammad, known as ?The Love Doctor? on a local radio station, could face misdemeanor criminal charges.
Claiming you are a psychologist without a license is illegal, she said.
Muhammad, 35, says he?s a doctor, but he didn?t earn a Ph.D. in psychology at the school from which he has said he graduated, school records show. In fact, he attended Southern Illinois University for just one semester as an unspecified graduate student, said SIU spokesman Tom Woolf.
Muhammad said he left Clark Atlanta, where he was an associate professor in the psychology department for four years, because he wasn?t paid enough and he ?no longer felt that spark? from teaching. School officials said he left after they discovered his credentials were bogus.
Muhammad, who received a master?s degree in guidance and counseling from Eastern Illinois University, said Monday he was unaware that claiming to be a psychologist without a license was illegal.
?I checked it out when I moved here. It?s not against the law,? he said.
But when a reporter read Muhammad the Georgia Law Code that relates to psychologists (Sec. 43-39-7), he said, ?I?m a life coach, I say I?m a life coach. It makes things simpler.?

Now… to give Muhammad the benefit of the doubt. 5 years has past and that’s plenty of time for him to have earned some type of degree. Who knows? He may actually be a doctor for real by now…
