Meet Moses Moses Barrett III, aka rapper Petey Pablo. Barrett was arrested at Raleigh-Durham International Airport Saturday morning after security found a Smith & Wesson 639 in his luggage.
Pablo was charged with carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a firearm by a felon and possession of a stolen firearm. The 37-year old rapper was immediately taken into custody.
Now considering the fact that all of this occurred on September 11th, the anniversary of our nation’s most horrible terrorist acts, one would think Pablo would have thought twice about concealing a weapon in an airport.? But that’s too much like right.
Pablo is said to have posted a $50,000 bail and handed his CDs to jail officials before leaving. Pablo, known for his smash “Freek-a-Leek,” said he was trying to catch a flight to Los Angeles for the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards.
Barrett has been arrested before in Raleigh. in 1993 he was sentenced to 14 years in prison in connection with an armed robbery, and served 6. He is now scheduled to appear in court this morning (September 13th) to face charges.
