Atlanta transplant Lyfe Jennings will probably never outlive the images of his scattered, smothered & covered Cobb County mugshot but he’s certainly making a concerted effort!
The Platinum recording artist has moved on from the incident and now desires to be a role model to young boys. Lyfe recently opened his Atlanta home to host 100 African-American teen boys from the national program OK (Our Kids). Lyfe graciously treated the young boys to fun & games, food and even the opportunity to meet their favorite stars including Shawty Lo and Dondria.

The teens ranged from ages 12 to 18 and earned a slot on an annual trip sponsored by the program by obtaining a 2.5 or higher GPA. Lyfe mentored the boys and performed, while BET’s “Cousin Jeff ” Johnson spoke to the youths about staying focused and positive in today’s society.

Lyfe met the founder of the OK program, Donald Norcross, when he spoke to a group of teens in Little Rock while on a promotional tour for his soon to be released album ?I Still Believe? (Jesus Swings/Warner Brothers) and he invited the kids to his home whenever they were in Atlanta.
The primary goal of the OK program is to reduce the high rates of incarceration and homicide of young African American males by guiding them away from prison and towards college, military service, vocational training, and a life of responsible citizenship and organizes responsible African American adult males to serve as positive role models and mentors for their younger counterparts.
