Mugshot Mania ~ Amare Stoudemire’s Mom Arrested… Again

Carrie Mae Stoudemire, 54, the mother of Phoenix Suns forward Amare Stoudemire was arrested May 14th in Scottsdale, Arizona and it’s not the first time!

Stoudemire, shown above in a mugshot from her Arizona Department of Corrections file, was arrested Saturday and charged with several violations after her vehicle was spotted driving erratically:

According to police reports, an officer noticed a black Lincoln Navigator straddling two traffic lanes while driving 60mph, and stopped the driver around 3:15 p.m. on May 14th.

The driver, subsequently identified as Carrie Stoudemire, was found in violation of her driver’s license, which indicated that an ignition interlock device was required on all vehicles in her possession. [An ignition interlock device is a breathalyzer device intended to prevent a drunk driver from starting the vehicle.]

Stoudemire reportedly told police she was on her way to her “alcohol class” and that she wasn?t’ drunk, however officers reported that when she lifted her sunglasses, her eyes appeared “watery and glassy.”

Stoudemire has a long criminal history consisting of charges ranging from drugs to prostitution and was sentenced in 2006 to three years in prison for aggravated DUI. She is required to use the interlock device on all vehicles until October 30, 2010.

Stoudemire was asked to do a field sobriety test, which she refused and told the officers, “Arrest me if you have enough.” She was then handcuffed and placed in the back of a patrol car.

Soon after the stop, another car — a Bentley — arrived to the scene and two incredibly tall men emerged from the car.? A responding officer claims he recognized one of the men as Amar’e.

Carrie told police she wanted Amar’e to take her purse, but she wanted to keep her wallet because, “I don’t trust him, he will take all of my money!”

According to the police report, officers asked the two men leave the scene because they were “causing Carrie to act out.” In the meantime, Carrie began kicking the door in the patrol vehicle and screaming very loudly for a lawyer.

Amar’e and the other man left the scene and Carrie was taken to a Scottsdale jail where she was booked on charges of unlawful operation of a vehicle without ignition interlock device, speeding and failure to drive in a single lane.
