Kelis is back in hot water after she stiffed a hairstlist on a $5,000 tab. According to TMZ, the stylist sued the Grammy-nominated fashionista, but she didn’t show up in court today:
Kelis got the weave at a fancy schmancy Santa Monica salon back in May 2009 but, according to legal docs, the singer never coughed up the dough.
This morning, the stylist showed up for the trial, but Kelis didn’t … so the judge entered a default judgment for the full amount.
Wow! That’s a mess. I’m sure Kelis totally forgot about the court date. Afterall, she’s been preparing for her comeback with a hot new single and a video that premiered today.? It features a cameo from she and Nas’ 8 month old son, Knight and a whole lotta other stuff I can’t figure out.

The video for Kelis? new single premiered today at Kelis’ website and is based on a treatment written by the GRAMMY-nominated singer-songwriter, the video was shot in Los Angeles by co-directors Chris Cottam, Rankin and Nicole Ehrlich.
Kelis performed at numerous events during last week?s Winter Music Conference 2010 in Miami, including shows with will.i.am, Benny Benassi and David Guetta. She?ll be performing LIVE on ?Jimmy Kimmel Live? Tuesday, April 6th.
Flesh Tone, her first album in nearly four years, was singled out as one of 2010?s ?Best Bets? by Billboard.
I’ve been a fan of Kelis since she screamed “I Hate You SO Much Right Now!” [Don’t judge me. I was having issues back then] and have been awaiting her comeback.
I hope she does right and hasn’t gone too far left. She was already OUT THERE….
