Movie mogul Tyler Perry is facing yet another lawsuit.
This time Perry, who’s known for his gospel based plays, is facing a lawsuit over a gospel song about the Devil that was used on an episode of “Meet the Browns”.
The song in question is all over a 2009 episode of the show, in which several characters sang the verse, “The Devil thought he had me … but I got away.”
Johnny Tyrone Stringfiled claims that those words came from a song he copyrighted back in 2008, entitled, “I Got Away”, and he’s filed a lawsuit in a federal court in Los Angeles since he’s never gotten paid for use of his work.
Stringfield claims Perry and the companies behind the show owe him more than $100,000 to make things right. (Source)
